I will say at this point anyone hiring a college coach with any level of success(high or low) as a new NFL HC that has no real experience playing or coaching in the NFL.....is just lightspeed retarded. That is the case 100/100 times. Now, everyone gets lucky on occasion but that it's still unbelievably stupid and almost akin to buying expired scratch off lottery tickets in an attempt to hit it rich.

We just aren't going to agree on the development being very long for TE's. It is what it is. For Sanders, I agree it was unrealistic to have him play and produce right away. I am a little surprised how bad overall he has been but, as you say, 4th round pick. If he develops into a decent backup, that's a home run.

As a Panthers fan in the Tepper era, please don't fuging say that.
-
I say that because in the last ten years a lot of the best receiving producers statistically are TE's. And a decent chunk of those noted blockers, as well. IMO, it mirrors the WR trend. There are a lot more capable players coming out today than in years past. Doesn't mean there isn't an adjustment, everyone has that. I just don't think these old adages really ring as true for the better prospects. I think our problem is that we heavily lean towards project players like Sanders and then rely on them to not be projects. This is why I have been so heavily against these sort of picks(I was a fan of the Sanders pick, for the record) for us because we take project guys in the second half of the first round through the 7th round. The hite rates are unbelievably low and then we make it worse by having to press them into action too early.

It's worse. We haven't allowed that much yardage.
-
Well there are a lot of TE's recently who haven't taken that time to develop at all so I think that you might be looking at this specifically through the lens of a Panthers fan only. Our TE struggles are really our own making for the most part. This mirrors the WR's that have been successful in the past 10+ years.
-
Good. That game was boring. Also, fug the 49ers.
-
Yeah, I am really not understanding that "longest adjustment period" thing. I think that might be something Panthers fans would think because we really never have any of our TE's ever develop. I agree he shouldn't be playing but it is what it is.
-
I think they heard you.
-
Well he owes one for the fumble, technically.
-
I mean that he looks utterly and completely lost. He doesn't seem to understand much of his role in most facets. I will disagree on the long turnaround. Frankly, he kind of looks like this is just not gonna be his thing.
-
Not sure who is playing worse, Geno or DK.
-
SF has weapons out the ass but can't do poo in the red zone.
-
I still think this year will be a referendum on Shanahan and Purdy. I know they are banged up but they have a lot less reasons to be 2-3 than we do to be 1-4.
-
Sanders has been Bryce Young-esque.
-
Yeah, I just don't recall that specific issue. I have seen him get off balance a few times but not any struggles with handing off assignments in that scenario. I would like to see them.
-
Do you have some examples of this?
-
100%. Plus we traded up to get him. Poor kid. We really fuged him hard.
-
I can't agree with that rosy a take but Morgan, unfortunately for him, carries the baggage of having been here through the worst era in franchise history under Fitterer. He deserves some rope but much like when Rhule was the GM while Fitterer was here, it's hard to erase that stink unless you are successful. So far his pro personnel moves seem to be decent. The draft....oooof....Fitterer-esque. We will see what happens but Morgan is on a short leash because he was here when we made some unbelievably bad roster/draft moves.

I am not going to pay attention if he does. It's a bunch of performative horseshit.
