  1. Yeah but Wilks also apparently hated the way the defense was run overall. If he struggles under Wilks/Holcomb then I think it is safe to say he isn't a guy. I would like to see him play for actual NFL guys.
  2. Yeah, I don't see this ship righting itself. It will be interesting to see what transpires.
  3. Those are points in Fitterer's favor but those weren't the only bad deals.
  4. I wouldn't mind seeing Fitterer be able to stay in a traditional GM role to see what he is made of. But Tepper has the scoop on who was responsible for what moves over the Rhule/Fitterer term. If we see him get canned after the season, I suspect we are gonna know he had his hands in a lot more of our bad deals than a lot of observers thought.
  5. I don't ever care to see Darnold play in this uniform again, really regardless of the circumstances. It's a literally hopeless situation. Baker and the offense aren't likely to fix themselves either but we perhaps we eventually can McAdoo during the season and at least give someone else some job experience as a playcaller.
  6. He does but being short is less of an issue than being predictable or just making bad decisions. The fact that his passes are so sky high(also much higher than they have ever been in his career) is a pretty good indicator there is something wrong with the offense. Baker is a part of the problem but not all the problem.
  7. The short = passes batted is a goofy thing to quote. The 2nd and 3rd highest batted passes guys in the NFL currently are both 6-5+.
  8. Oh the results are likely to be similar no matter what we do. Our path is probably pretty secure for 2022. I have no blind hatred for Darnold. I just know and knew he was not an NFL QB or even capable of being one. He showed that in NY and confirmed without a doubt that fact here in Carolina.
  9. I have seen the same games and I still don't want to see Darnold again. At least Mayfield honestly has some good play on tape in previous years to give some sense of false hope. Darnold has almost nothing.
  10. I am very sure about that. There are four years of tape basically proving it.
  11. Well now that we have a real head coach, I would hope we would be smarter as an organization than to start Darnold in anything but an emergency scenario. He is very clearly the worst QB on our roster. VERY clearly.
  12. Yeah but why sell low? We could also just keep him as a valuable piece for the next staff. We shouldn't ask the world but we shouldn't cut bait, either. We aren't in a desperate spot.
  13. I agree but we literally don't know how each move broke down. We speculate and that is about all we can do. One assumes Tepper has a much better idea about that. I think whether we see Fitterer back will tell that story. Let's also keep in mind that Matt Rhule hand picked......Scott Fitterer.
  14. I don't think we know how much we will know about that power structure until both are gone. We assume things but we don't know.
  15. I don't think so. If you recall, he said that it would be more of a "balance" in the future. I think that was a direct shot at the decision to let Rhule have final roster say.
  16. His expressions, body language and tone spoke volumes, IMO. I think that some of the Huddle is probably a little autistic, so they may have not picked up some pretty obvious things.
  17. If you listen to what he said, he was pretty critical of the mismanaged resources. So, the question is, how much responsibility did Fitterer have for that? The one thing he didn't do was publicly give Fitterer a vote of confidence, which he had done for Rhule previously. That's not good for Fitterer, IMO.
  18. I mean, he didn't obviously shut any of those doors when given a chance, which I think was very telling.
  19. Boy, a lot to unpack there. He all but admitted the Rhule contract was a mistake. It sounds like Fitterer's job is in jeopardy. It sounds like he doesn't believe we have done a good job of managing resources(draft picks, contracts, etc) in pursuit of winning now. It sounds like we will give Wilks a chance but I don't know if he will be back, regardless. It sounds like we might be moving players before Nov. 1.
  20. Can you imagine how big of a shitshow this probably was behind the scenes?
  21. No QB will be successful in this morons offense. That ship sailed.
