  1. That's exactly what I mean. The most common thing I hear in SC from football fans is, "I don't watch the NFL."
  2. No, that hasn't been typical, actually. Not for guys that panned out anyway. We have had some historic first year wonders that turned out to be busts but most of the elite WR's in the NFL currently made an impact early and kept getting better.
  3. That's honestly old school mentality. The past decade has seen a large amount of instant impact 1st, 2nd and 3rd round WR's.
  4. It's also closer to, IDK....the actual fanbase? I have worked in Clemson a bunch over the years. Never seen or met a Panthers fan in almost 20 years of going there.
  5. I am curious about turnout in general. Have they been able to get more than a 50-60 person headcount any day so far?
  6. Man, that dude had some of the most insanely bad takes on QB prospects that humanity has ever conjured up. Basically it boiled down to, as long as he was 6-4+ and 230+, that was the guy to take. Literally nothing further than that. What a wild nutcase.
  7. Leary?? So you wanted a lower rent Corral or Grier?? Lol...why?
  8. Or go to Greenville. Light years better than Clemson.
  9. If we just see evidence of competent coaching and competent offseason moves, that's all I need to see. The roster is still the worst in the NFL, so I just need to see that might potentially change at some point. Seeing a bunch more flubbed FA signings and draft picks.....whelp.....
  10. You do understand you are saying it's possible for a player to develop to Panthers fans, right? You know how fuging rare that is here?
  11. I will say as bad as Bryce looked, AR15 looks like he has about 3-4 more years in the NFL. The gulf between Stroud and everyone else appears massive. In a re-draft Bryce and Richardson probably slide to day 3.
  12. Seems like the new coach is all in on Sanders. Financially, I understand but from a football perspective oh wee wayne. It will be interesting to see that group shake out. Methinks they are all on board the Brooks 2025 train.
  13. Yeah and with most "should" statements over the past few years, they typically become "didn't" in the postscript. My expectation is that we will be a 3-5 win team and that will we come to yet another sobering realization about our FO/ownership team. It would be nice to be wrong but I just don't see it.
  14. I think the full season is fine. The rest of the team is pretty bad, so it isn't like him playing poorly would really drag us down that much. After this year, we will be in a position to pivot if it doesn't work out. I completely expect that we will not pivot until at least the 2025 season or offseason. My logic behind this is that with almost every single move(FO changes, coaching changes, personnel decisions) during the Tepper era we are always too little and too late. This speaks to the dysfunctional atmosphere that is pervasive across the entire organization. This is classically an element of any professional franchise with incompetent ownership.
  15. There is literally nothing to watch there. That's one of the most one sided matchups imaginable.
  16. I swear, our WR drafting history in the last 25 years has to be the least impressive in the NFL.
  17. I don't really give a fug if he looks amazing in practice. Let's see it on the field when it matters. It's moderately interesting because there are no real sports going on but I am taking 100% of our training camp with a bushel of salt.
  18. It all means very little. If it did, Ian Thomas would be getting his gold jacket mailed to him, not Peppers.
  19. Well you gotta take care of the 38 left.
  20. IMO, he is one of the weakest links.
  21. I know the stats but I also watch him play. He's very much a product of the best collection of offensive talent in the NFL.
  22. I walk outside for several hours in this basically every day it isn't raining.
  23. It doesn't really matter where I live. I spend 90+% of my time traveling for work anyway.
  24. He's Alex Smith-ish but he was really just a good NFL QB. Smith was never anywhere near elite, very similar to Purdy. Now, as down on Purdy as I am, he has played like a first or 2nd round pick, so he is much better than everyone thought. He is also far worse than most currently think.
