  1. I will say this, there is one thing that is painfully evident......the Texans are not good either.
  2. Well as someone currently involved in Detroit, I agree we are going to have to disagree.
  3. How is it that almost everyone on offense looks lost about 70% of the time? Do we really have a worse staff than Rhule??? Is that even possible???
  4. NFL labor is weaker than the auto unions or many other organized labor unions. People easily get blinded by the money the athletes make but don't confuse that for what is a fair deal.
  5. In fairness, as a franchise with one of the richest owners, we could suddenly morph into a much different thing. There is no telling. It won't happen in the near future. The NFL and owners are as staunchly anti-labor as exists in any professional sport.
  6. Technically the NBA has a cap but they have a luxury tax too. I hate the MLB but I will say that over time small market teams have found ways to be competitive in an inherent uncompetitive situation. I don't think it would ruin the NFL at all, it would just morph to something different.
  7. Oh, I agree. I am just saying from a fan's perspective that would be pretty wild and fun. I would never want that for the players themselves.
  8. I think TMJ is basically done here. I doubt we will be able to trade him because he doesn't have any real trade value. Mingo is a rookie. I am not sure I see much ceiling but at least he has room for growth. I just haven't really seen any evidence of that for TMJ.
  9. I think the modern era pro athlete doesn't necessarily lean into the "faux warfare" aspect of competition. Obviously that varies from player to player but in general I have noticed that throughout AAU and HS for some years now. They still love the competition but they can turn it off and be friends outside the court/field/etc.
  10. I actually have no problem with basically the idea of constant free agency. IMO, it makes the offseason more fun. Plus it values veteran players over HS guys. I would never claim it is perfect but college football will always and forever be the most fuged up and unequal system in all of athletics. It has also single handedly ruined 100% of all other college sports, so I have no sympathy if it goes down the drain.
  11. I am 100% fine with the transfer portal. College students can transfer as much as they want. Athletes should get the same. I have never or will ever understand how anyone who claims to like college athletics could ever support such an insanely crooked and fuged up system as existed beforehand. I have supported the idea of the NIL for almost 30 years now. I even wrote a paper on it in college.
  12. Steve is doing his job to be a TV troll. He is literally on a panel of other TV trolls. I would also say, cool that DD got fired up and won them that game. So, is that what you need to win games you should win? You need media disrespect? You think maybe a better idea is to always have your team prepared, even when there isn't some media troll egging you on?
  13. Oh....an ACC blog refutes the idea that the ACC is terrible?? Shocking! Also, the SEC isn't good this year either.
  14. Buying teams has existed for many decades in college football. I am extremely happy it is at least public now.
  15. Those models have a finite lifespan. If you know enough younger people(under 30), you will see that most don't have a "main" streaming service as a replacement for traditional cable TV. You will also see that engagement with college football and the NFL is quite low. Those sports will experience a retraction or almost complete collapse in the next 15-20 years as their core audience basically dies out with no real replacement. They built their models on the idea that TV revenue and subscriptions will go up forever and that is absolutely not even remotely true. Younger audiences aren't going to pay for a $300 NFL package nor are they going to pay $25/month for Bally Sports. Nor are they going to pay $50+/month for a traditional cable package or it's streaming equivalent. I travel all over the country and I see a fraction of engagement with those traditional forms of media in the sub-30 crowd. Football is in very, very big trouble.
  16. That was an utter and complete joke. If you watch college football it's immediately EXTREMELY evident that the ACC is the absolute gutter of P5 football. The gulf between the Pac 12, Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC is completely insane when you compare them to the ACC. It's literally very plain to see every single week of college football this year. Outside Florida St, not a single ACC team had any business being ranked this season.
  17. Yeah, whatever it would feel like for the fans it wouldn't look good to any other coach that might halfway consider us.
  18. If he turned us down last year, he isn't likely to come this time. He has a good thing going in Detroit. There is no reason to leave there for a while, TBH.
  19. He is the only one to be this stupid in the way they do it. I mean.....records??? LMAO
