  1. I mean....Hooker lovers....I tried to tell ya'll he was a cheap trick.
  2. Yeah, I am not sure how the backup QB bar got moved to Bryce. It's very strange.
  3. The pro Bryce guys remind me a lot of the Kyle Allen, PJ Walker or even Sam Darnold fans. They are watching the games, seeing the wins and ignoring the things making those players bad. All too frequently it was wins not because of them but in spite of them. "Being just good enough to not lose" all of a sudden becoming the bar. The eye test was always the same. These guys are a problem. The longer it went on, the more obvious it was.
  4. I am going stand by my assessment. We will see if it changes.
  5. *IF it doesn't come with his contract. If that is considered, I am taking Bryce. I can pivot a lot easier.
  6. I mean, I don't think an 11-25 career record is on the right side. Not diminishing the win but he was probably not one of our ten best performers that day. His part was relatively small by starting QB standards.
  7. No, that's basically what I was going to counter with. If you look at all three seasons, any statistical improvements are modest, at best. He has largely been the same player all three years.
  8. I would argue the reverse. Between Dalton and Bryce, there haven't been many deep shots at all. That seems to indicate it does have a heavy scheme component. Also, IDGAF about the lack of deep passing. As I stated earlier this season here, throw backwards, throw short, throw intermediate, throw long......just be successful. IDGAF what the success looks like. I have preferences but if we are winning, I don't care.
  9. I did a look at this earlier and the amount of deep passes attempted from 2024-2025 per NFL NGS between Young and Dalton wasn't much. Bryce actually threw more downfield. I do think that the greater "blame" for the lack of deep targets is on Canales rather than Bryce. I think the success of those passes is more on Bryce.
  10. 100% agree. If I could "upgrade" to Lawrence, I would do it in a heartbeat. He's basically Panthers Edition Sam Darnold and that is an improvement over Bryce. Not much of one but still an improvement.
  11. Gabriel is a Bryce level guy, for sure. They are good comps, actually. Bryce is early better. Now, I don't think their fans would be pining for Bryce, though. They'd more likely rather have Flacco back. The Jets I am unsure of. I definitely would take Tyrod on his contract over Bryce on his contract 100/100 times. The Saints are a good one. Rattler is basically the good version of Bryce, which is to say, not very good. I would be willing to bet the majority of them would still ride with Shough because of the lack of seeing him yet.
  12. That's the hype versus expectations. Lawrence is immensely worse on that scale. Now price obtained versus result is immensely against Bryce, however. I agree Lawrence is clearly the better NFL QB. I do genuinely think he is also the bigger bust, however. That generational talent tag doesn't come around often. He is one of the worst to ever get it in my lifetime. If you asked me which situation I would rather be in today? Ours. Lawrence already got a mega contract. We still have the chance to get out relatively cheaply. Now if that doesn't happen....oh wee mayne.
  13. I don't think he really has ever adjusted to the NFL and I have long running concerns that he doesn't actually have NFL level drive.
  14. For next to nothing. Would have liked to have made that upgrade.
  15. I guess my question would be, what fanbases in the NFL look at Bryce Young and say, "Boy, wish I had that."
  16. TBH, Trevor has been pretty bad. Not Bryce bad but he is securely a bottom third starting QB. Not what you want for your "generational talent" QB. If you ignore costs associated with obtaining, Lawrence has arguably been a bigger bust than Bryce. With the costs factored, that's a much more complex argument.
  17. A few things: - Delete Twatter. It's poison. - Had we done this last week, it's POSSIBLE we would have won. Stopping Cook was a tall order. - Young never throwing for over 200 again is just not logical. He had a 300+ game this season so although he only throws for over 200 yards in about a third of his career games, he does do it. Just not nearly enough - I think we have some evidence we aren't a bad team. I don't think we are a good team at all, either.
  18. Panthers QB's with Minimum of 15 Games Started as a Panther QB Passing YPG Bridgewater: 248.9 Newton: 223.5 Beuerlein: 215.1 Delhomme: 211.6 Darnold: 203.9 Collins: 184.6 Young: 175.5 Peete: 165.8 Weinke: 140.7 QB Rating Bridgewater: 92.1 Beuerlein: 87.7 Newton: 85.4 Delhomme: 82.6 Young: 78.2 Darnold: 77.3 Peete: 76.6 Collins: 66.0 Weinke: 61.4
  19. Bryce versus his fellow 2023 QB Class in 300+ yard passing games per game started. CJ Stroud(9 of 40): 22.5% Aidan O'Connell(1 of 17): 5.9% Bryce Young(2 of 36): 5.6% Will Levis(1 of 21): 4.8% Anthony Richardson(0 of 15): 0.0% Dorian Thompson-Robinson(0 of 5): 0.0% Jaren Hall(0 of 2): 0.0% McKee(0 of 1): 0.0% Jake Haener(0 of 1): 0.0% Clayton Tune(0 of 1): 0.0%
  20. Bryce's Career To Date passing yards by games. Includes two games he did not start but played. 2023(179.8/GM) Less Than 100: 1 101-150: 4 151-200: 6 201-250: 4 251+: 1 2024(171.6/GM) Less Than 100: 3 101-150: 1 151-200: 3 201-250: 3 251+: 3 2025(173.8/GM) Less Than 100: 0 101-150: 4 151-200: 3 201-250: 0 251+: 1 Percentage of Games Less Than 100: 10.5% 101-150: 23.7% 151-200: 31.6% 201-250: 18.4% 251+: 13.2% So, in 2/3 of his career games played he is under 201 yards passing.
  21. This was a terrible podcast. A bunch of uninformed homers that had worse takes than the bottom 10% of the Huddle. I listened to a handful of podcasts this past offseason in search of new Panthers material since John Ellis doesn't do his pod anymore and The 4 Man Rush don't either. Immediately deleted it after the handful I listened to. Truly terrible.
