  1. I am not too worried about his injury nor do I really expect much from him this season. Given the ACL, I am going to grade him on 2025 and later. But, unless he is ripping off multiple Pro Bowl campaigns, I still feel the same way about RB's in the first two rounds of the draft.
  2. Maybe. Or maybe he would have been far better than a guy who has never played center before.
  3. I disagree because for the most part wins in the NFL are very rarely dictated by the RB position. This isn't just my view, it's the view of most NFL franchises in the modern era. Hence why RB by committee and cheaper RB's the most common feature of the average NFL team. Also why you see RB's sliding further and further down draft boards and generally substantially lower RB salaries compared to other offensive skill positions, which is very much different from 20+ years ago. It's too easy to get above average to very good RB play from guys drafted in the 3rd round or lower(this trend is going on a while now). Hence why I say it really doesn't matter how we play, he isn't going to have very much impact on W's and L's(see McCaffery, Christian for the classic modern example of this). We just have philosophical differences on what we think of the position in the modern NFL. As was stated by others in this thread(and across many this offseason) we could have selected a potential long term starter and multiple other positions of substantially higher positional value. Not a very good prospect with likely a very short career that just isn't going to readily impact W's and L's.
  4. Regardless of injury status, taking a RB in the second is a luxury pick. Quality/starting caliber RB's were available in the 3rd/4th rounds. This is classic bad roster management. Ignoring positional value.
  5. I don't think there is any real danger of getting another player on a top 50 list in the foreseeable future. Possibly Johnson but that seems like a pretty big stretch too.
  6. I was a Bryce guy but I don't believe he has NFL elite potential after watching him for a season. He could certainly turn it around but I believe his ceiling is substantially lower than what was advertised. The most Panthers thing to happen is for him to just settle into being mediocre to slightly above average. Then we extend him based on the owner being high on copium/hopium so that the whole thing ends up being dragged out for almost a decade before we move on.
  7. 3-5 wins, so basically the new norm for Tepper. Many cups of ice will be thrown.
  8. I have no idea why anyone believes in this guy. He's a low rent, lower ceiling Brock Osweiler.
  9. Well he may make it because his price tag is cheap and his money is guaranteed anyway. I believe he is just a less impressive Dwayne Jarrett.
  10. Lol. "Glowing reports?" From where? The same sources that just gave glowing reports about Ian Thomas?
  11. Unfortunately in the modern game the old adage about rookie WR's mostly disappearing has been turned on its head over the past 8-10 years. So when you see young WR's mostly flounder for the first 2-3 seasons of their career, it's usually a pretty good sign they just aren't going to pan out. In that vein, TMJ is a complete bust. We still have some high on the hopium for the kid but it's very unrealistic to expect him to pan out. Mingo definitely had a rough start to his career. I hope it turns around this year but with two actual NFL caliber WR's on the roster now(Johnson and AT), I suspect his role will be significantly reduced from last season. Hopefully the light clicks on.
  12. They seem to be investing in Deebo and CMC instead of Aiyuk, which is extremely perplexing. If you asked most NFL teams which of those three weapons they would want, most are likely to say Aiyuk. I'm okay with this, though. fug the 49ers.
  13. We are saying the same thing, basically. This is pure fantasy.
  14. Why trade for a guy we are unlikely to be successful getting a contract extension for?
  15. Luvu was definitely an impact guy. Chinn I am not really sure he ends up developing completely. Which, that's really the franchises fault. LB, S, Nickel.....they never could find a role for him that allowed him to shine consistently. Hopefully they develop him properly in Washington. Love the player.
  16. Yeah but those players played very well here too. Those weren't diamonds in the rough, they were two of the better players at their position.
  17. IMO, he doesn't seem natural in interviews and it's more frequently a little awkward than charasmatic. I just don't expect this to go well. You never know, maybe he attacks it with the same competitive nature that he did football and he excels.
  18. I think Brady is going to be wooden and not very good at all.
  19. I read it. I will never recover the 45 seconds and I am infinitely sorry that I lost each one after reading.
  20. This is the most offseason the Huddle has been so far. Wow.
  21. My biggest point of interest is actually not going to be Bryce but our offseason additions. If the signings and rookies look like poo, all bets are off for a few years. The biggesy hurdle we have is that FO and the cycle of terrible decision making year after year. If we can't at least pull back up to a Gettleman/Hurney level, we are in a lot of trouble.
  22. Well you have to admit it's a safe bet we are doing something retarded under Tepper. It's been about 90/10 in that direction.
