  1. I think you have to tweak the rules to be less judgement based. I have no issue with outlawing the "diving" tackles to the upper chest/head area of a QB in a slide but basing it on when the player actually got down versus when they actually launched themselves. The defenders also have to realize that the QB doesn't get credit for the "sliding" yardage so there is little benefit to launching into them. Just form tackle them and they will go down.
  2. I went coach on the basis of a new HC moving on from Bryce and Evero. If you just move on from Bryce, you may end up with a bad HC and bad DC. Which, could also have bad results in any of these changes. I just like the idea of HC because it might net us all three changes.
  3. Perplexingly, In Panthers Losses: 5.1 Penalties for 43.6 Yards In Panthers Wins: 6.6 Penalties for 51.4 Yards
  4. Yeah but that isn't a realistic scenario to even hope for, unfortunately.
  5. You know, oddly, in games he has been sacked the most this season, he has also been the most productive.
  6. Yeah and somehow when this exact same thing happens to a bigger ticket QB the shoe is on the other foot for the talking heads? I am not buying it. It's all reality TV level horseshit. The rule and they way they call it has been pretty clear for years now. If was a stupid play, without question. And at a critical time. But, it should never have been to that point anyway. In the final 24:54 of gametime following our 3rd quarter TD we accomplished 44 yards of offense in 4 drives. 44. That's the fuging problem, not any individual play.
  7. Yeah, and Ikey is prone to mistakes but I am not gonna crush him as a pivotal reason why we lost that game. Especially in the midst of a very good season for him overall. I think the blame goes almost entirely to Canales and the coaching staff and the bulk of the remnant once again falling on Bryce. Other players like Ikey, Ransom, etc certainly had their fair share of critical individual mistakes but I think the top line issues are the overwhelmingly biggest.
  8. I lead HC because in theory it can impact so many of the other problems directly. As someone stated, that point could even easier be made for GM in terms of getting a good HC which will impact everything below that to an even greater extent. Just getting rid of Bryce doesn't fix DC's poor coaching, poor preparation and poor play calling. It doesn't fix Evero's defensive schematic flaws, etc.
  9. I mean, I don't go to some LLM for literally all my talking points, WarGPT89.
  10. Cool. So what about the paltry production, missed reads and general ineffectiveness that led to us being down at that point which was largely.....Bryce Young's fault?
  11. Tepper will always be the root of the problem. That poo hasn't changed at all, nor do I expect it to. I remember when delusional Redskins fans thought that Snyder had gotten better when he stepped away and let the football people do their thing. Then he came back and got involved directly again because it "wasn't fun." Ah...good ol David Snyder.
  12. Well, people credit(ridiculously) that Baker's time here spurred some sort of career turnaround(also ludicrous). Maybe we put Bryce as scout team DE for the remainder of the season and see what happens?
  13. I think the thing that stands out the most is that people keep having to find other people's mistakes to justify why Bryce Young doesn't win or play well. Because other strating QB's in the NFL have ample adversity and somehow manage to overcome it on not such a rare basis. Untimely penalties, drops, defensive lapses, bad calls, etc. Also, they get heat for consistently failing to win, even with this situations. But it's always not Bryce's fault for even being in those bad situations in the first place. Boy it's funny how that works out....
  14. I don't know that it really matters THAT much about the timeline. I think we may have already cemented ourselves as a bottom 2-3 spot for head coaching candidates, if not securely last. But that logic can be applied across the board to all these moves. We aren't very likely to improve at QB if we get rid of Bryce. I mean....these guys all picked Bryce. How the hell would they know what a good NFL QB looks like? As for defensive coordinator, who in their right mind would come to work under Dave Canales and in this situation? It is likely to be someone Dave knows personally and probably making way too big of a leap up the ranks to take a job they aren't qualified for.
  15. Brother, if you honestly believe that Bryce is either of those guys, I don't know what to say. How about this, take those first three seasons of both Mayfield and Darnold and let me know what strikes you as similar? Both with results and attributes.
  16. Agreed. We have invested a ton into our OL and they gave away one of the better LT's for more defensive juice.
  17. Oh definitely not under Tepper but we could technically get worse at QB and DC too. Or even GM, etc. I am asking which factor would you personally change first. My logic is HC because if you give them more actual control then two of those other factors are likely to change anyway. Canales is a fairly limp dick head coach from what I have seen. Basically a youth pastory, buddy boss type. 90% style to 10% substance.
  18. Somewhat. We have seen that here in Bryce's first year. Bryce's pressure percentages by year have been 24.2%, 26.7% and 21.6%. His sack percentages have been 10.53%, 7.02% and 5.61%. Stroud's pressure percentages have been 22.0%, 28.0% and 20.4%. His sack percentages have been 7.08%, 8.90% and 6.39%. Bryce has actually been sacked 114 times to Stroud's 113.
  19. No, they just suck for a variety of reasons. Have you not seen the past two years of evidence?
  20. I am saying Dave Canales for these reasons: An upgrade at HC is capable of dealing with both Bryce and a new Defensive Coordinator. He can eventually can them both.
