Here are two of my trade back drafts with 2022 1st gained- ones with Mond, but could add another contributor in that slot if you wanted:
-
The first thing that jumps out at me with these rankings is how different everyone’s rankings are. This will be a great opportunity for someone (hopefully Panthers) to get some steals this year. It looks like they grade about 55 or so guys to be starters or better within their first two seasons (>6.3). It reminds me that we always get enamored with prospects and tend to forget how they compare to guys already in the league.

Trade back for someone who has to have Pitts and pick him up with the extra third:
-
prefer to trade down, but if no takers...

5 or 6? I think there are several DBs to be had in later rounds that would fit our scheme- StJuste, Keith Taylor, Bynum, Gowen(though some have him in their top 100)

I’m thinking Mukuamu would be multi-position guy-6’4 205 South Carolina used Israel Mukuamu in a variety of ways including as a wide corner, in the slot, as a deep safety, and in the box. While he primarily played as an outside corner, he does have appealing traits that make him a versatile option at the next level that can serve as a matchup neutralizer against tight ends and big slots. For a team that features a slot safety and/or positionless subpackage defenders, Mukuamu is an intriguing option for those roles in addition to playing wide corner in zone coverage. Mukumua is long, athletic, rangy, and physical. He does well to stay leveraged in zone coverage, has good ball skills, and is aggressive driving forward. The concerns with Mukuamu stem from his high-cut frame and the challenges it presents in terms of flipping his hips and cleanly transitioning. In addition, his play dropped off in 2020 after two outstanding seasons, but that was primarily due to injury. Unfortunately, he simply wasn’t playing his best football at the end of his career and some of his allure has faded. With that said, focusing on 2018 and 2019, that tape and his physical traits indicate he can fill a meaningful and valuable role for an NFL secondary if they are willing to tap into his versatility and what he does well. Ideal Role: Outside corner that can situationally play in the slot. Has some appeal as a slot safety/positionless sub-package defender.

Seems like we’ve never had ST players that could actually play a position if needed. I like the depth angle

Who’s EXCITED!? Free agency starts today unofficially!!

The better value will be after the first wave of overspending. There will be some talent available on “prove it” deals that can help us upgrade. -
Can’t see how they can guarantee allowing attendance at this point. I sssume they’ll allow the opt out again?

Let's talk linebackers (Rostered, draft, & FA)
section543 replied to saX man's topic in Carolina Panthers
I like Z Collins as a hybrid defender. Could probably trade back and get him. Agree LB is a need and draft looks relatively thin for them. Like Cox as well but doubt he would make it to us by rd 3. Also agree CB is a huge need but draft seems deeper for that position. Rest of draft needs to be OL -
Given our many holes and lack of cap room, this year may be an even better time to trade down. I’m fully aware that you have to have a wiling partner(s) to do so, but I’d love it if we traded back multiple times and added 3rd rounders. I’m concerned about taking a rookie QB with a below average OL. I’d add starters/contributors/depth in this year’s draft and see what’s available in 2022. I really like Zaven Collins as another hybrid freak for our D, then hit OL, LB, CB with the rest. I think we can get quality at OL and CB in later rounds, but good LBs are gone by 3rd round. Here’s my latest mock with multiple trade downs:

If a QB isn’t there at 8... Slater is your pick

Love that idea! Trade back at least once and add 3rd with each trade. Radunz in the 2nd if other OTs gone. Decent IOLs available in 3-5 ( (Moore, Meinerz) can add LB Cox, Decent CB then too -
Wonder if the Rams are sorry they traded up for Goff when he was a”great prospect?”

Fitterer’s penchant for trading down, all QBs we like gone, multiple trade backs to stockpile starters:

I agree Fanspeak seems the most realistic. I always feel like I missed out on players I wanted. I tried blending BPA mixed with need on this one.

Nowhere, but apparently he could marry a goat if he chose too.....

Always wondered why KK didn't play DE some...

Did the run slow in the 40 memo also have say "have some major off field issues"?

Josh Robinson, my new favorite prospect for Day 3

Maybe he got the "run slow in your 40" memo from the panthers..... -
Darren Waller- GT 6'6" 240lbs 4.46 BOTTOM LINE Late bloomer who is faster than quick and has coveted size-speed combination. Waller isn't just a tall receiver, he has legitimate hands and body control and can impose his size on mismatched cornerbacks. Waller has a low floor, but with a little more competitive fire and technique work, he could become a legitimate touchdown maker in the league. Teach him to block a little and we have a second TE
