Well it appears that enough people complained and the grunter was asked to tone it back and he flipped out. He threatened a few people, threatened to hire a lawyer and call the cops. I don't think he will be back. Anyways, hitting Jacob's ladder once a week for a cardio day than walking at a brisk pace up hill while my heart stops trying to explode. It is an efficient cardio workout.

I got pissed at the first SOCOM, because they did dumb poo from time to time, so I issued the command "Specter, pull you head out of your ass". The response I got was "It's too far sir". Fortunately it got better with subsequent releases.

I have no idea. Obviously he wants attention, but I have no idea if it's from anyone specific or he just wants the world to notice. I was curious if anyone else has seen this crap. I've seen curls in the squat rack bicep warriors, people who can't clean-up after themselves, and just about every other stereotypical thing you see at a gym, but this, this is different.

If that was the case, he could have explained that to the three people I know have asked him why he does. He also increases in volume and frequency when one person specific person enters the gym, so I would assume tourette's is not the reason behind this.

ESAC and Planet Fatness are the predominate gyms around my house. They are going to today. A friend of mine walked up to the desk and threatened to go to ESAC.

It's a local gym that only has two sites. The location is awesome (less then two miles from my house and I have to drive by it to go to work), it's 24 hours, and its a small business.

A little different than most posts here, but there is this one guy at my gym who stands out for a grunt that is a mix between a military hooah and a smoker clearing their throat. The gentleman grunts during any and all workouts whether he is lifting or on the treadmill. I noticed this the other day while I was on the elliptical. I observed this guy pushing to the point that I was looking for an AED. He continued, but I was confused as to why anyone would grunt like that, especially during cardio. I can understand if he was about to set a new personal best and grunted, or he was trying to finish the last of a set, but he does it haphazardly. Since he goes to the gym often, his random vocalization of his effort has begun to annoy others. When approached about why he does this, he insults the person, brags about his weight loss (it is impressive), and tells the person they aren't on his level.

I only read video game threads to see how hard PSC trolls the fug out of people. He has been doing it so damn long I can't believe anyone still gets sucked up into, but someone always does.

Before and after pics Skinny Taste is a great resource recipes The best way to control your diet is to use something like my fitness pal to track everything you eat. It keeps you cognizant to what you eat, and it makes snacking a pain as you have to log it. Since the one on the left has nice buns, I bet it squats I'll see your stair climber and raise you

From a total fitness point, you can't. Do you think your sugar and cholesterol levels were good during your McDonald's days?

You can't out train a lousy diet. Do it for you, like Cat said. Large muscles will help attract the opposite sex, but it takes more to hold their interest (insert money/penis jokes) Everyone starts somewhere. Once you start lifting keep a journal of what you lift and how many times. Compare yourself to you, not the people who have been going for years. Being a cross country runner is going to make bulking difficult but not impossible. Do you run in the offseason? QFT

I agree with PSC. Fitness is a lifestyle. I don't workout, I train. If don't make changes and set goals, you won't make any long term gains. There is no quick fix. There is no silver bullet. There are no short cuts. All there is is dedication and self control. There will be sweat, pain, frustration, and exhaustion. However, if you want to be strong, lean, or whatever your fitness goals are, it is worth it.

Cardio either between lifting days or after lifting. You want to be able to give you lifts all you have. If it is too taxing to run after lifting, run the day after lifting.

Good deal. The best advice I will offer is to set firm achievable goals with deadlines, track everything, hold yourself accountable, and do it for you.

The shoes are close to needed replacement, but I should be able to get another 50-100 miles out of them. I do try to focus on posture and breathing isn't an issue. I could go fast but I messed up my leg preparing for the 10K earlier this year. I'm progressing slower. This is also the last pair of Nike running shoes I get. My previous pair was New Balance and I was happier with them.

I might need a new bed or a new pair of running shoes. About 1.5 to 2 miles into a 4 mile run, my lower back starts hurting. It's an over exertion pain, not a "I'll need 5 grams of flexerall, before I can crawl into my Mustang" kind of pain. I'm not much of a runner, in fact, I hate running, but I want to do a 10K next spring in under 40 minutes.
