Shedeur Sanders is gonna be ballin out for somebody on Sundays. Kid is special. Composed as poo and drops dimes if you give him some protection.

I'm sure the Storm Squad girls are still in the Triangle. Plotting against the Canes Crew for replacing them. As they should.

They've done good at masking Young. They let him sort of loose against the Lions. I think he's gonna shock the world a bit. Having said that, also expect typical rookie growing pains. It ain't gonna be an easy season. But it is gonna be really good.

Y'all are expecting game planning, intensity and a desire to win in a preseason game? Ok maybe some intensity at positions with battles going on, but it's fuging preseason. Y'all need to chill.

Where are we watching games this season?

Apple is being smart. They're not overextending and taking huge losses like Disney did with Disney+. They're churning content at a lower rate and hoping to leverage other draws to fill in the blanks. If they get sports beyond soccer, they'll be set. -
Fans need to curb their expectations. It's extremely hard to win consistently in the NFL, and it's even harder with an entirely new staff, systems, rookie QB and entirely new offensive weapons. It's like telling NC State to win the ACC every time they graduate a 2 year starter and hire a new coach. Could it happen? Sure. Is it gonna? Absolutely not. The difference in last season and now, with 7 wins, is had we not fired Rhule we absolutely would not have gotten those wins. We would've won another game or two at least had we fired him last off-season. We finished strong and got to 7. I expect us to struggle a little but be competitive early and week to week build and improve and it be apparent in the play. That's something we HAVEN'T had in a while. That should be our expectation, given our circumstances. If you're expecting playoff berth, you're likely to be very disappointed.

I've seen 3-3-5 teams stop the run effectively. Scheme matters less than matchup and execution. You don't want to run a base 3-4 against a 2 te set, but you don't want to run a base 4-3 against that either. Neither offers a distinct advantage in that scenario. Base defense is just presuming the offense is in a typical pro set, and pro set is often 3 wr and a single back, so that has shifted. 3-4 fits today's NFL best. We're a year or two away from truly being good on offense. It's why a 7 or 8 win season would be a good year for us this year. Rookie QB, new staff, new systems. We all should be wanting to see progression week over week more than anything.

I'm also in the Hulu+Bally sports app sub for the season. Sinclair fuged us all. I miss FSN regionals. Simpler times. Digital media is the future. Bally failed because the business model being around betting was destined to fail. But a bigger corp like Google or Apple or Amazon that wants the sports market will absolutely take it over eventually. -
I'm going to assume Bally Sports goes under. When that happens, MLB, NHL, and NBA games are going to be a free for all. I can see NBA going highest bidder, but MLB and NHL need to maximize profits AND reach, so where do we land? Amazon? YouTube? Apple TV?

Bryce looked fine for preseason game 1. He went through some progressions. He threw with anticipation a couple of times (even though once, he was too good and his receiver didn't break it off at the sticks like he should have. Was a good throw and decision, just a receiver not understanding the situation). He hung in with pressure and delivered, he hung in with pressure and sailed one slightly down the sideline. Not a bad day, not a good day, just a decent performance with what he was asked to do. He wasn't asked to do a ton. He didn't do a ton. Nothing more or less than that to make of it, tbh.

Positive from Today: Bryce Young's Talent in One Play

You don't show too much because those first two weeks, you're playing key games for the division. You absolutely don't want to show your hand more than you must. In general, coaches want to see basic stuff just to see execution and technique and timing. It's used to address fundamental issues you may have. If you're fuging up the basics, showing a good chunk of your real base schemes and fuging those up helps nobody and actively hurts you once the regular season starts. -
Preseason is where coaches are literally calling poo just to see what happens half the time lol. Y'all really need to relax
-
Y'all can't forget...we're playing preseason against a top 5 defense.

Gaming in 2023 means we hate everything we play while we continue to play it and then say we do because it's the only game worth a damn right now until the next game which we binge and then claim to hate.

Maybe it's just because I built a rogue this season but I'm having a ton of fun. But I thought Sorc just got buffed a bit? Didn't chain lightning and fire both get improvements to sort of balance out the ice shard build being the only viable build in endgame? I know they had the most aspect changes this patch. Edit: NVM, just saw the date. What are your thoughts after the patch this week?
-
I can do it. Wouldn't make many changes but could possibly do some stuff

Diablo and Escape From Tarkov once wipe happens?

Already is one. @Arroz con Panther @Dex and a handful of others. Even though neither of these assholes ever play video games with me anymore

I remember you. We are from a simpler time Johnny lol

Fair enough. I can't justify much anymore since becoming a parent. I was at least one Panthers game and a Knights game or two every year for years but then marriage and building a house and then kids and yeah, I just focus on my family and work and gaming occasionally when I get a little free time at this point. Lol.

Baseball is very much about the atmosphere and getting to see your favorite players play. It doesn't have the urgency of football where careers are often short and every single game matters to the outcome of the season. I think that's why people hate on it, you don't have that "gotta get this win right now" feeling until after the all-star week.

Soccer is like $40. Cheaper in some places. The 300 section for the Brewers game in Atlanta is like $20 right now on SeatGeek.

I had a similar view of soccer but determined that soccer is more fun to watch in person. Same is true for baseball. Being at a major league field and watching is infinitely a better experience than watching a June game on your couch.
