  1. The guy wants out of a Super Bowl contender so that he can get more exposure and more money. Let that sink in. No one in the NFL should ever want to trade away their shot at a Lombardi trophy and a Super Bowl ring (especially if they haven't got one) if they are on a team that is still very much a favored conteder. If he already had that ring, yeah, maybe. But honestly, if you aren't motivated to win a championship right now, then what kind of motivational addition is this guy going to be for a team? Let's not just pass but make it a hard pass. We've had enough guys come here because they wanted a paycheck.
  2. '98 Toyota Camry, ran when parked. Needs paint. 140k miles. FWD. $18,500. Sometimes it's the price. (And let's be honest, he was meh-ish while he was here (Pro Bowl is just a popularity contest) and he didn't act like he wanted to be here.) Let's just move on.
  3. Am I wrong in thinking that Jacoby's brother died tragically during one of the season's Jacoby played for Baltimore and then he turned in a massive, game breaking performance in tribute to his brother? Or was that another player? Either way, such a young fellow and apparently a really fine guy, taken too soon.
  4. Retirement fund managers really, really need you to keep $1 million in your retirement accounts to manage. And, well, so does the stock market. And some will tell you that, in turn, so does the economy. Really, though, it's who you are, what you want and how much cushion you want in your old age. Our country has a very difficult time dealing with the needs of the aged and this whole argument about how much money is needed really misses the point of what is actually needed.
  5. You know, it is fun to play, very challenging, great for building teamwork. But watching it, unless you've got a kid playing, is just a frikkin' snoozefest.
  6. RIP. Dude changed the way the game was played.
  7. So maybe 150 games? And maybe 200 goals... if your team is good? To each their own! We all decide our own fun.

    Panthers Add a WR

    Good luck to him!
  9. We have no idea what's going on. Maybe fired, maybe took a different job, maybe decided to get out of the game to spend more time with family. Could be anything. Let's move on. It's not like any of us were really stoked about what was going on in his office. Most of us had never given it a thought.
  10. Well, maybe he gets a shot and shows up as a new man and finally plays to his potential. Love to find out that he put all his demons behind him and a new road has opened up before him. Or, like all of us someday, we'd like one last chance to go out as the guy we once wanted to be. Best of luck to him and all the others getting their shot at summer training camp here. You won't find a place more in need of someone ascending.
  11. It's probably best to go into the season with no expectations on Bryce -- good or bad. He, like every QB in the NFL every year will sink or swim based on what he can haul to the table on opening day. Sometimes the bad ones catch a moment of magic and take off, sometimes a mid one crumbles and finds themselves as a journeyman backup (not the worst career in the world to have), sometimes a great one hits the wall of age or injury and just can't answer the bell anymore. And with Bryce we have no idea what we have or will have. Any expectations right now are just speculations. The young guy has the weight of his entire life so far weighing down on him and defensive coordinators looking to pad their resumes with a game against a number one draft pick that they think they can rattle and reduce to nothing. Sheesh, I wouldn't want to be the kid, yanno? Still, that's a lot of money, that's a lot of potential, and that's a shot at immortality in the sports world he has by being that draft pick and a starting QB. The rewards... they're just astounding. What will be will be, though. Hoping for the best for the kid and the team. Looking at recent history here, though, and I just can't expect anything. I guess I'll just have to tune in and find out when it begins to really matter in September.
  12. Great player, all around skillsman, great fellow. He'll be remembered for a century, maybe more.
  13. Good for them! Wish we were heading into this season with him on the team, but he has really gone on to bigger and better things.
  14. Honestly, we don't know what we have in Bryce at this moment. We will know by October, though. At that point with four to five games under his belt, there shouldn't be much of a question. I'm hoping we see massive improvement. Otherwise, well, how are the next class of draft-eligible QBs looking? It's a harsh situation to be in, but there's a lot of money on the table, too. And perhaps, just perhaps, we should stay away from Alabama QBs...
  15. In a world of second chances, he's on which one? I mean, maybe it has locked into place finally, but really now?
  16. I've long contended that Burns looks better than he actually was. He was quick with a lot of flex in his moves. Keep him engaged, though, and he wasn't blowing through anyone. YGM... never really made me sit up and go: whoa look at him. Just hoping to see something out there.
  17. Here's my newest video. Takes place in Horry County, SC near Myrtle Beach.
  18. Home Alone 5. Everyone else goes off to the meaningful late December games and then the playoffs. The Panthers, farting around as usual, get left behind when the other 31 teams of the family forget about them. Hilarity almost ensues.
  19. Tepper bought the Panthers for almost $2.3 billion dollars in 2018. The city just plunked down a commitment for $800 million. How many other concessions and "partnerships" has Tepper gotten (including money for the failed Rock Hill, SC complex)? Ever think maybe the city should have just ponied up the money and bought the frikkin' franchise from the Richardsons?
