No one knows the rush of giving Robby an extension….big mystery. He had a good first half of the season but quiet towards the end and you just drafted a WR in the 2nd. So why give an older year WR an extension at all (when you still have to pay DJ, Burns, etc) let alone before the season? How much would Robby with his current play have gotten by the panthers or another team if we waited? He got 2 years 29.5. Would he have gotten 10 per year, or 5 mil, or the vet minimum…..or would he even be in the league?

Would you draft Sam Howell at 10?
slumdogmillionaire replied to slumdogmillionaire's topic in Carolina Panthers
His numbers have still been really good this year other than the VT game. -
I know UNC hasn’t had a good year and Sam hasn’t had the Heisman year he was supposed to….but he did lose two stud RBs and his main WRs. And his offensive line may be as worse as the Panthers one. He’s sneaky athletic and can run and has a cannon of an arm. He tries to do too much at times so decision making has been an issue but he’s a great kid and willing to be coached. Any other QBs worth the 10th pick if we draft around there?

That extension is going to hurt more than you think. Yes I own a bar next to the stadium and yes I knew Shaq was going to be out 2-3 games. But Robby’s extension made no sense to lot of the players, fans, and some in the front office. You just drafted a WR in 2nd round, talented WRs are available every draft….why did you have to pay Robby at all and even more why before the season ended? I much rather you pay Jax or Reddick and before you say we will fit them under the cap well I rather pay the next guy…..paying older WR made no sense what so ever. And from a current player the worst thing is bc of that contract our QB and coaches have to try to feed him the ball and then you get INTs and poo….

After they got back in town he was at my restaurant and said plantar fasciitis and he’s out 2-3 weeks. @Mr. Scot

Shaq has had a great year and earning that paycheck. He wasn’t right when he came back in the game. If we lose him for 2-3 games (let’s say with plantar fasciitis) who’s the next man up? Does Chinn move to LB…we are already down Horn in the secondary. We are playing four 1-3 teams next but if Shaq is missing do those games get dicey?

Want to make a wager? He’s out 2-3 weeks with it. -

Word of mouth from him. Should come out later today. -
Shaq being hobbled didn’t help our run D. He’s going to be out 2-3 weeks with planter fasciitis so someone is going to have to step up.

Run defense looked bad even after Shaq came back in bc he wasn’t healthy when he returned. He’s going to be out 2-3 weeks with planter fasciitis. -
Panthers about to trade for CJ Henderson?!?!
slumdogmillionaire replied to joemac's topic in Carolina Panthers
And their 5th will be at the top of the round while our 3rd will hopefully be towards the bottom. -

WRs are dime a dozen in the draft plus we have Marshall and Shi this year to see how they play….why resign Robby? I would take DJax over Robby for that 14 mil. -
Robby worse contract than Batum?
slumdogmillionaire replied to slumdogmillionaire's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yup and we are using that money to sign one of our other guys and let our young WRs take Robby’s spot. -
Robby worse contract than Batum?
slumdogmillionaire replied to slumdogmillionaire's topic in Carolina Panthers
It’s not even his performance….y’all don’t get it. So you’re good losing Jackson, Moore, Reddick, or Burns bc of Robby’s contact? Bc that’s what is going to happen. -
Hear me out….Batum’s contract was one of the worst in Charlotte sports history. Is Robby’s worse? Not on the amount but the effects it will have….Marty/Jerry like hand out. 1) Batums didn’t really hurt us from signing others bc Hornets not ready to contend….one or two of Reddick, Moore, Jackson, Burns probably won’t signed bc the money given to Robby. 2) timing….Batum had a good year and then you resigned him. Why give Robby this contract before the year was over? What was the rush….see how Marshall, Shi, and Robby does this year then decide and see what his value is. 3) Batum was impeding the process of younger players his last year here….Borrego put him on the bench and the young guys played. You think Rhule will bench his Temple guy? Marshall’s progress will be stunted. 4) Why draft Marshall in 2nd round if you’re going to keep Robby? There were tons of talent left at that spot. 5) WRs are dime a dozen in every draft. No reason to pay two WRs and a RB that much. Can’t build a contender paying them that much when you will have to pay your QB and the guys I mentioned above. 6) Age ….he’s not young. 7) Performance….I don’t think he ever was worth the money he got but this year has been really bad. He won’t be able without touches and could become an expensive disgruntled diva. I just don’t get this contract extension….someone make me feel better about it and tell me what I’m missing.

Let’s discuss WRs not named DJ
slumdogmillionaire replied to therealmjl's topic in Carolina Panthers
Which is why multiple people watching the game with me at various times asked why did we extend Robby. If you wanted to extend him use that 2nd round pick on someone other than Marshall. -
Colin Cowherd picks the Panthers straight up
slumdogmillionaire replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wrong. Cowherd is good with his picks. He will go 4-1 on his blazing 5 this week. -
Agree on lot of above. Southend is cool but younger with slingshot having the youngest crowds. Gin Mill will have cool band that Sat night. Lost will be packed. NoDa has some cool spots like my friends place Room and Board….if you go there eat at Goodyear House before good food vibes and drinks. My spot I own is Graham St Pub & Patio. It’s a casual rooftop bar next to the stadiums. Good crowd not too young. Good DJ Sat 3-7 and 7-2am that play fun old school type music.

Talented Unvaccinated Players Getting Cut

Talented Unvaccinated Players Getting Cut
slumdogmillionaire replied to slumdogmillionaire's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah I meant not personally care but having non vaccinated players jeopardize games and having to make team activities different with the non vaccinated players. -
I’m guessing this is going on around the league lots of fans surprised by their teams cuts. But through old Panthers coach who is with the Skins they cut some talented players in lieu of lesser talented ones just because of being vaccinated vs not being vaccinated. Wes Martin, Antonio Golden Gandy, Moreland, David Sharpe, Jeremy Reaves, and William Bradley King I’m told would have probably made it if they were vaccinated. Moreland had so much more talent than Troy Apke but Apke is vaccinated. Do y’all think this is a NFL league wide thing or just Ron?

I live in his neighborhood....the power was out last night from 8:30pm til 4am. Maybe the gate at front of neighborhood was open bc of the loss of power? I know I manually opened my garage yesterday to charge my phone in the car.
