  1. Goodell has massively monetized the league through advertising. When this happens there is a point when media essentially takes the reigns of an industry. What are you gonna do though when the owners and players are willing to deal with it for big money? I don't BLAME Goodell for this. In some ways I respect his work, especially his initiative and openness of allowing the NFL to grow with modern technology. Lets be real: What we pay for in tickets is a fraction of what they get from advertisers and TV deals.
  2. What makes the least sense is supposedly this girl feared hardy would hurt or kill her. Of all the court hearings to show up to, why wouldn't she show up for the restraining order.
  3. Do you believe everyone critical of feminist actions to be a misogynist? Such as the rapidly growing women against feminism group?
  4. I think you missed a joke. A parallel between Greg Hardy leaving and Julius Peppers leaving was made. It's all gonna be gravy.
  5. I REALLY REALLY liked Julius Peppers freak athleticism and play on the field. I was plenty okay with his non-existent personality and lack of passion. I'd still take Cam and Luke though. And we weren't in dire need of a DE when we dropped Julius, we had CJ.
  6. Our collective hatred of a certain quarterback may have forced Zod to put one of those filters on. Like there is for TBow ya know?
  7. I REALLY REALLY liked Greg's personality, sense of humor and wild characters along with his exceptional football play. Cam and Luke are all that matter though. We aren't in dire need of a DE until we part with CJ.
  8. Overrated: Darrel Revis, been riding a 4 game shutdown streak his whole career. Underrated: Tony Romo, notice quickly the tune has changed about Romo once they actually got him a competent line.
  9. Ok there are a couple things about this that strike me very very oddly. If you check the OP's link to the CNBC story, there is a video that actually shows the police report. Injuries the female suffered: bruises and scratches. It also states Hardy attacked her using his hands, feet and teeth. If Hardy attacked her, for whatever reason, does anyone think he would scratch, bite and/or kick her? A 6 foot 4 280 lb man is going to punch and throw a woman around. Hardy is an odd guy but if you piss him off to the point where he his legitimately trying to hurt you I have a very tough time believing he's going to bite and scratch you...
  10. NO! This team hasn't lost in a month and a half, I signed up as a Panthers fan to be continually let down because it fulfills my emotional needs. I'm starting to feel glad... i HATE feeling glad. If I wanted to back a winner I'd be a Dallas fan.
  11. Since we are gonna rag on the defense, I'm gonna rag on Ted Ginn. Despite having the game winning catch, the dude played like utter garbage. He had at least 2 returns that he had no business leaving the endzone with, and left the offense at the 15 yard line or less. He also had a huge drop that hit him wide-open and in the hands on a third down. Seriously though, there are a lot of factors at work here with our defense in this game. 1.) Didn't have CJ for most of the second half. He's been the most productive, consistent and underrated player on this TEAM since the Jake Delhomme era. 2.) BB game planned the hell out of us. BB has some absurd record after bye weeks (10-1 or something stupid) since being with the Patriots. Patriots play calling was top notch all game long with the lone exception of the 3rd and 1 pass (which was probably called because nobody expected it, just like nobody expected them to run as often as they did while trailing us in points). 3.) Sure Brady moved the ball well and marched down the field, but we made him work for every pass. I live in New York, I see a LOT of Patriots games. You are just going to have to trust me on this, we pressured him MUCH better than teams typically do. Tom is often seen drinking tea and eating crumpets in the pocket about midway through the 3rd quarter. 4.) First time all season the Patriots had all of their offensive weapons healthy. Those young receivers are getting their heads out of their ass, Vereen is like Kevin Faulk but much more athletic and Gronk... well yea he's a monster. We are about to see the Patriots start to blow teams out left and right. 5.) Ties back to point #3. Didn't give up back breaking plays. No bombs, no 70 yard catch and runs, no DPI on deep throws. Yea, as Panther fans this year we expect these things to not happen, but Tom Brady and the Pats have been a powerhouse franchise for over a decade now. A big part of their success is the deep ball. Don't get me wrong, I wish our defense shut them out and sacked brady enough times to make his hairplugs fall out. Could our defense had played better? Hell yes. Did we have a bad defensive showing? I think we'll know that answer in a few weeks (I'm guessing no).
  12. I still wholeheartedly believe you two are the same person.
