This is like playing Super Smash Brothers with ur friend when you were little who kept using the same cheap move over and over. Instead of you know, learning how to counter it, you just tell him he cant use it or you'll turn the Nintendo off.

Mr. Richardson did flex muscles regarding Hardy
Frizzy350 replied to dswofford's topic in Carolina Panthers
Richardson may or may not had strong input regarding Hardy, but I don't think it was relevant. Even if Nicole Holder and this entire situation never happened, I don't think we were keeping him. I don't think he fit into Gman's long term roster plan of financial distribution. This is almost like a teenage girl breaking up with her boyfriend on her own, then afterwards her father forbids her from ever seeing him again. Honestly I think this is a good image for Richardson and the Panthers to attempt to take. Save face, run with it and pretend to be the good guys despite getting royally screwed by the NFL (which we did, that $13 mil could have done alot for our roster last year). I'm sick of being treated as a second class team with the national media knowing absolutely nothing about us. I'm sick of people asking me what city/state my favorite team plays in. -

If Gone Girl taught us anything, it's that if a woman has that level of intent to ruin you, as a man there is little to nothing you can do to remove yourself from the situation and potential ramifications of false accusations. -
I think Ron is very similar to our quarterback. He's been getting a dirty job done for a while now. Once enough quality hands are on deck he will light the league up. The question is when/if we can provide either of them that amount of talent.
-
True but also by limiting their snaps you limit their opportunities. Sacks, tackles for loss and QB hits are what drive the market for Dlinemen. By cutting down on their opportunities you will be in better shape to retain them at a reasonable price because nobody will be making Suh-like offers to them. But heck there are some wicked smart GMs out there who will actually watch tape and see the havoc he causes on a consistent basis who will offer him a good contract. As long as ESPN and Madden aren't drooling over him I think we can retain him before he hits the open market.
-
Star should be relatively easy to retain. Though I felt he took a big step back last year, I think he's a long term player here. KK might be difficult to keep. He's so explosive and disruptive behind the LOS he'll have leverage and be in high demand. In my perfect world we lock up Cam, Luke, Norman, Star and Short next season when we've got nearly half our cap space available. Might not be able to touch Star and Short yet though with the whole CBA and rookie contract thing. I think we'll be on the lookout this draft/offseason for another DT to make one somewhat expendable and because Cole and Dwan are really getting up there in age.

Kiper and most of these other big draft experts have been way off the mark these past few drafts. Teams are finally wising up by not listening to them. They are also looking more at private workouts, pro days and film and putting less emphasis on combine statistics. Some idiots are still falling for it, like the Rams taking Greg Robinson (I think thats his name, the combine freak LT) at #2 overall just to have him be a struggling backup guard.
-
Watt went like 16th or something. Nobody thought he'd turn into the player he did (they thought he'd be good no doubt). Pretty sure 3 or 4 pass rushers went ahead of him too. Positional value is also considered. QB is still considered to be the most valuable position by a good margin, followed by LT, DE then CB.

Alan "Blue Balls" Ball leaves Panther offer on table
Frizzy350 replied to CubsWin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Can he play ST? If so I like it. -
To be fair, that was 100% on Reid. Shoulda read the scouting report : ). I think a young Thomas Davis ended a promising Green Bay rookie wide receiver's career in football. TD has laid some impeccably nasty hits on people. Aaron Rodgers cited a hit from him once as being the hardest hit he'd ever taken and was feeling it long into the playoffs.

Greg Hardy Could Receive A One Or Two-Game Suspension
Frizzy350 replied to NcPsa10's topic in Carolina Panthers
Look I have a vague and limited understanding of compensatory picks and the salary cap but I've never even heard that term before. Care to elaborate? -
Rumor: Panthers, Titans, and Eagles Contact Michael Crabtree
Frizzy350 replied to rscott94's topic in Carolina Panthers
No harm in taking a look and offering a fair contract. Theres still quite a bit of WR talent left on the table that we should look at. Crabtree, britt, nicks and stevie johnson come to mind. I'm not saying jump on them and hand them a fat contract, but see what they can bring to the table and what their price is. -
Contract (he's got to be being paid 9mil+), age, a bit of an injury history lately, doesn't really provide an upgrade in the speed department on offense. Third time he's been traded despite being productive. Long history of off-field issues, especially on the domestic violence front. Keep in mind Bmarsh was a 4th round draft pick, no reason to think we cant hit a homerun value pick w/ a receiver. Look what we spent for Norman and Bene.

Started out as a Madden joke. For some reason he kept getting drafted to my team in simulated drafts and would always end up having game winning picks and fumbles. I live in NY and go to a Buffalo game every year and was able to speak to him after a game once. I told him about it and he thought it was funny and we talked for a good 20 minutes. Really cool guy.

This might sound weird but Moats is my favorite NFL player and has been for years.
-
Idk I think Armanti and that god awful DT project hold the trophy for most unwarranted Panthers chances right now.
-
If you are a bit old school then take appreciation in his blocking ability. Immediate upgrade over LaFell (who was actually a pretty solid blocker). Benji has no qualms about getting nasty with DBs and had shown plenty of times his ability to flat out take defenders out of the playing field for our runners. I too hope he improves on those drops. The upsides he showed as a rookie far outweigh the downsides in my opinion. He's an utter pain in the ass to defend against.

Panthers Final Decision On Hardy : No Thanks
Frizzy350 replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think Hardy has it out against the Panthers, what more could they have done to settle this situation? It wasn't the Panthers who gave him an ultimatum of "sit out and be paid or sit out unpaid". I think our FO handled this as best they could. This was a confusing, unusual case with little to no evidence involved. Sure the Panthers erred on the side of caution, but I'd think if Hardy had a vendetta to settle it would be against Goodell first, then the NFLPA, then the Panthers FO. All reports have generally stated our players were generally supportive of Greg. Heck I don't even think Greg has a vendetta against Ray Rice. When the Rice incident happened Ray and Janay explained exactly what happened, and a video from outside the elevator surfaced displaying the altercation. People are idiots though and can only understand brutality when it is on full frontal display and whored out by an entity like TMZ. -
When a police officer is cited for unlawful search and seizure, harassment, false arrests, incidental harm, etc they get a paid vacation as a form of punishment. How is it punishment for a police officer but not an NFL player? Especially when you are trying to play to get a future contract and have time limited career.

No thanks, he's awful. Yea, I'd rather have Bell.
-
Now you know how Byron Bell feels trying to replace Jordan Gross. Poor guy.
