He doesn't matter against us unfortunately. No way we can deal with Hill, Waddle and Mostert in the first place. Hill alone would probably be enough to beat us.

Could Both Fitterer and Reich Be Safer Than We Think?
Frizzy350 replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Reich is safe if the offense shows improvement as the season goes on. He gets to use the 'everything is new card' up to the Bye. Rookie QB, all new skill position players, same Oline but different blocking and run scheme, new coaching, etc. Its not just Bryce looking like crap out there - everything looks bad (Except Theilen - He's been solid). Not only is the playcalling predictable - it seems we have serious issues getting the play in and are constantly burning timeouts due to it. Fitterer - I really have no idea what happens with him. There are a handful of things that I really liked on paper that he did - but they haven't seemed to have panned out in any sort of positive manner. He could be canned but likely at the end of the season. -
Derrick Brown going after Mike Thomas after the game
Frizzy350 replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lol during the game he was begging for a flag on literally every ball that came his way. -
At this point I'd rather sign Burns and make him the focus of our defense. Unsure if Brown deserves the kind of cash he is going to expect. No way we can give a bag to Jaycee Horn. Pass rushers of Burns caliber are just extremely expensive in the draft and in FA. Quality wideouts are routinely found in almost every round of the draft. I'm also not entirely sure even a bonafide receiver can fix our current offensive woes.

Per Matt Miller.. Panthers all in on Richardson?

Stroud was a very underrate prospect IMO. -
Cam also had Steve Smith. I'd happily trade another future second to Chicago to have dj moore back. I dont think he wants to be there anyway.

This is the best post I've seen since the game. It really looked like we handily won the trenches until the turnovers started to pile up, which seemed to have worn the defense down or killed their spirit. The picks were bad, but I actually like that they happened in the same way and early on. Bryce is a bright guy and I don't think it will remain a habit. I really like the clock in Bryce's head - its obvious he's well aware of the amount of pressure he is on any given play and he moves extremely well in the pocket to extend plays. One thing that always bothered me about Cam was his habit to always bail the pocket on a spin move, then run backwards and rollout. When it worked it worked, but sometimes Cam would get hit behind the pocket and take sacks for -10 or more yards which killed drives. I liked Bryce's decisiveness - even when throwing the ball away. The lack of late game urgency really doesn't concern me yet. Really felt like the team decided to toss this one away and use it as a learning experience after the third turnover. What I really did not like seeing was the issues getting the call in and getting to the line. There was confusion on some plays as well - the fumble involving hubbard comes to mind, flagged for invalid play formation, avoidable delay of game penalties and burned timeouts. The offense has a lot to clean up at the skill positions.

I agree. Game changing wide outs are a luxury, not a requirement in the NFL. Moss, TO, Fitzgerald, Calvin J, Steve Smith, Julio Jones - This is way too talented of a list of players at a single position to not have a ring. There's obviously tons of great players at every position to never win a ring, I just don't think it compares to the level of talent these wideouts possessed.

We'd have traded for Fields instead of the #1 pick
-
Would you trade 9 for Fields - straight up?
Frizzy350 replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree but not for the same reasons. The Bears suck. They suck hard. As skeptical everyone is about Fields' ability to take his passing game to the next level, he's still probably the best player on that team. When the roster is this devoid of talent - it makes WAY more sense to trade down, take the BPA with every pick, and hope to draft a core group of guys you can build a team around. The Bears have nothing to lose letting Fields start for a few more years. If he does not improve they can always move on from him. -
JT. Love CMC and think hes a better player but Taylor's situation is significantly better.

Being aggressive in free agency and trades wins.

TV Recommendation: The Dark Side of Football
Frizzy350 replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yea I've seen many of the 'Dark Side of...' publications and the football one is by far the tamest. PhillyB and fizz' 15-1 book reveals more shady industry practices and back-room whispers. So far all the 'Dark side of football' episodes I've seen just point out things that are pretty obvious to most avid football fans. The one on the Browns sucking for multiple decades gave absolutely zero insight about the Browns' internal politics or the clubs dysfunction: it basically boiled down to "draft bust QBs and you will stink for a long time, but Baker is here now so maybe things will be better soon". The whole thing felt like it was green-lit by the NFL. Compare this to the 'Dark side of the ring' on Jimmy Snuka - they straight up tell you that Vince McMahon paid off a local police department to sweep a murder investigation under the rug. Its not a bad show by any means, but it really feels out of place as part of the 'Dark side of...' series. -
Take your covid threads to the tinderbox. Thx, the management

Brandon LaFell hasn't played in the NFL since 2017... -
Draft Analysis: "A massive value-destroying error"?
Frizzy350 replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed. In today's NFL though - it seems there are more 'franchise defining' QBs than ever before. How many QBs are there that you think are capable to build around and win the big game? Murray, Stafford, Wilson, Burrow(?), Mayfield, L Jackson, Big Ben (?), Herbert, Mahomes, Brady, Matt Ryan, J Allen, Goff, Rodgers, Cousins (?), Wentz (?), Watson, Tannehill, Dak Prescott, Hurts... It's a passing league, sure, but what is often separating the success of that rather large list above isn't the talent of the QB (of course that is not an absolute). Having a competent QB is super important. No you are not going to win in today's NFL with Trent Dilfer... but I also don't see this like the 90's where you had like 6 HoF QBs in the league that were the only guys worth investing in. -
Love Jaycee Horn and he was third on my board, but...
Frizzy350 replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thats very overlooked around here. Teddy wasn't a bad idea. Teddy was a bad deal. Nobody would have cared about the failed Teddy experiment in a year that we simply had no shot of making the playoffs. Even a prime Cam Newton wasn't taking last year's team to the playoffs. The problem was he was given a monster contract that gave the team really poor options to get out of. That reeks trademark Marty Hurney. -
The only way I see this happening is if we are planning to let DJ walk because we know we won't be able to afford him. I really do not want to see that happen.
-
We don't want to dump Teddy over his physical limitations... We want to dump Teddy because he plays scared when the game is on the line.

Andrew Luck was: "a 100% guaranteed multiple SB winning HOF/maybe HOF QB. "

Absolutely! Just like Andrew Luck!
