I have a friend that is a huge Steelers fan and he told me he would help him pack his van when I said we would take him in Carolina. I guess he feels like they've had the most talented roster in the NFL and Tomlin has underachieved. He needs to be a Panthers fan for a couple weeks lol

Quite a few folks here were labeling him a bust a couple of years ago. Dude has just straight out put in the work and improved so much. Pay him.

He has a bunch a deep throws where he had 4+ seconds to throw the ball. Won't work here.

I can’t believe how inept our scouting department is.

Reasons to be optimistic about the 2024 offense
bigjohn replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm still not sold on Icky at LT. Moving him to guard would be worth looking at in the offseason I guess, but not having a viable replacement we're right back there. If we can get a serviceable LT through free agency or the draft, at Icky looks stellar at guard, that'd be great improvement. Really impressed with Chuba. Definitely a reason to be optimistic. Bryce continuing to grow and improve, another reason. Especially if we can get a coaching staff in here early. Would like to see him do like some of the other QBs and get together with his receivers in the off season on their own for a couple of weeks and build that chemistry. Chark finally showing up. Thelein just needs to stay healthy and hold off father time another year or two. If we could get a first rounder plus anything else for Burns, I'd say go for it. Get us some help on the OL and at WR. But don't trade away any draft capital beyond the first 4 rounds. We need depth in the worst way. -
Especially in that weather.... easy for a DB to slip and let a WR get behind them.

I'd much rather have him over Bill B. I agree with the Andy Reid comparison. Don't know if it'd work out that way, but I think it'd be the change in culture to get us moving in the right direction. Not saying he'd be my first choice, but we could do worse.

My biggest concern too. It's amazing to me that this issue wasn't hammered home in scouting reports. I know some folks here will say "I told you so" from before the draft (and originally I was a Stroud guy too). But Bryce was unquestionably going to be picked in the top 5, probably top 2. So everyone was wrong on this, no just the lucky Panthers.

Wow. Actually a few good comments in this thread and not as many completely insane "hot takes". Maybe there's hope for this forum after all.

Ok I’m good with Chuba as our feature back going forward. Let’s get a win dammit. I don’t care… just win this thing dammit.

This season.

Ok I'll say this...nice job of the announcers explaining that time out.

I've been holding in favor of letting Bryce take his lumps and seeing if he can develop but I'm starting to finally come around to this line of thinking.

Went to a neighborhood Christmas party last night. The wife and I are pretty hungover, it's pouring and blowing like a tropical storm here at the beach. Will have the game on while half-napping in old person hangover recovery mode as punishment for overdoing it last night.

2nd interception in 2 weeks for my guy! I was BJ Hill's high school basketball coach. Best kid you'd ever want to meet and heck of a football player.

Rebuilding the Carolina Panthers - how long will it take?

When’s the next Haley’s comet? -
I was thinking no one could handle this team worse than Tepper, then I see some of the posts here and say “yeah, it could be worse”.

No need to do anything about QB next year. We need to build for the long haul. Next year gonna be a big bag of suck as well. Keep Brown and Luvu if at all possible. Lean on our defense and run game. Through the draft and free agency, focus on WR and OLine. Don’t trade away any draft capital. If Bryce sucks again next year, draft a QB or sign one in free agency— after next season. We need to build the core best we can, so when we are ready to grab that QB in the first round, he has something to work with.
