Panthers aka the Teppers may want to keep Fitterer
Mr. Scot replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's definitely possible. -
He was going to have rookie struggles regardless. Nothing would prevent that. I'd agree he's developed some bad habits. They can conceivably be coaches out but it won't be easy.
-
Likely will at some point, though a lot of our situation is kind of up in the air at the moment.
-
Multiple people coming to the same hypothesis...
-
It'd be kinda silly to think you can keep much secret these days. There's already plenty of talk out there that working for Tepper is a sh-t assignment. Not likely any of this helps.

Been getting this feeling from stuff I've read, especially from Russini... -
Insight into the coaching search from Jonathan Jones

From Kaye: -
From Adam Schefter, re: Scott Fitterer... It also remains uncertain who will help guide Tepper. The Panthers haven't given general manager Scott Fitterer any assurances that he will be retained, league sources said, though Carolina has intimated to some around the NFL that it would like to keep Fitterer. Even so, league sources believe Fitterer's future remains up in the air. Link

If it's from Staley (as is highly possible) it ain't good for us.
-
Not sure that'd make sense since none of those guys are likely to be here next year.
-
More here, but I haven't listened yet...
-
All I feel like I know for sure is he's gonna be mega-pissed at this story. And he should be, but not for the reasons that will likely trigger him.

Russini: Some coaches wanted to bench Young
Mr. Scot replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Pretty sure when Tepper sees this story he's gonna blow his stack. -
This also from Jeff Howe... The biggest names there will be Ben Johnson, Frank Smith, Kellen Moore and Bobby Slowik, and Johnson seems to be getting to the point where he can pick his spot. The problem for the Panthers, though, is Johnson may not want anything to do with David Tepper and his quick-hook problem.

Joe Person gives a tacit endorsement to Russini's reporting... Mike Kaye said something similar.

If you just want cash, sure. If you want a long, successful career you're gonna want to avoid a toxic environment. Right now, that's us

Russini: Some coaches wanted to bench Young

I don't necessarily see Duce being shy about what happened. He could technically be bound by a legal agreement of course, but there are ways... Hence why I say things could get extremely ugly this offseason. -

And people are telling potential new coaches to stay far away for that very reason -
Unless you're getting a good offer from another team whose owner is less likely to meddle and potentially derail your career.

Could easily have been McCown... -

This offseason could get ugly as sh-t -
Others have come to a similar conclusion... Staley's not exactly what you'd call "shy", and he came here to be closer to his mom. If he starts talking...
-
Could be a Lions source too, someone associated with Johnson. Any way it goes though, this is an absolute sh-t show of a situation

Flipside: That's only a good thing if Tepper hires the right guy -

Could likely have played more years with better protection.
