  1. Roster wise, a lot of folks think only the offense needs work.
  2. There's definitely evidence. Reich didn't want to coach him on footwork until this coming offseason. And there were some who reportedly thought Reich was babying him (sounded kinda like a Pete Carroll - Russell Wilson type situation). I've said elsewhere I think Reich would have preferred not to have started him until next year. We've heard he wanted Derek Carr for this year.
  3. Nah, it's still funny. That said, Hurney didn't sabotage his own head coach,.so there's that.
  4. I don't mind Suleiman. I'd also like to keep Adrian Wilson around.
  5. One possible clue in the other direction... Darin Gantt's latest "Ask the Old Guy" article mentions the take that the defense and special teams part of the roster looks fine as opposed to the offense. This is the take previously that, along with some of what Dianna Russini said, made me think Tepper could use this as a reason to keep Scott Fitterer around. Personnel evaluation aside, I don't think you can do that because of what happened with Reich. But Tepper might not agree...
  6. That's a real possibility, but not with Nicole (the lady assistant GM from the Browns).
  7. Not uncommon for new GMs to fire staff immediately after the draft and start restocking
  8. You're not gonna get that before the next draft though. What you see this April will be the result of the current staff's draft evaluations, even if it's under a different GM.
  9. This is valid. People complained about our GM not having good interpersonal skills. Now we want Steve Smith?
  10. Kurt Warner's response to the game manager thing is a pretty good one...
  11. The current version of Bill Belichick? The guy who believed that Joe judge could coach quarterbacks and Matt Patricia could be an offensive coordinator? No, I don't think that version is what we need. Even if he were an upgrade over what we have, it's still just an upgrade to mediocrity.
  12. Don't care about extreme. What we need most is "smart". I'd add that Belichick minus prime Tom Brady is nothing special.
  13. Gunslinger types (like Newton was) probably have the greatest tendency to be streaky.
  14. I don't think I'd put Prescott in that category, maybe not Goff either. Purdy and Tua are debatable but I could see it.
  15. And here's your hot take of the day courtesy of an old friend of ours...
  16. About the same as those guys. Putting it another way: Matt Rhule's coaching tree has as many Super Bowl wins as Bill Belichick's.
  17. His coaching tree is just as terrible as his drafting.
  18. Yeah. That's the sort of thing a professional should do. Not what happened here unfortunately
