Reich didn't write the playbook.

About as good an answer as I expected... -
Granted, but I do think he'd like to have gone out better.

The Appaloosa Way -
I think he really wanted to "come home" and finish his journey here. Absolutely hate how it wound up

Wish we were in a position to get this guy. We could slide Ickey to left guard and get back to having a dominant line -
Best ownership philosophy: Offensive coach, defensive coach, quarterback guru, whatever... Just stay the hell out of it.

That's pretty much my take right now. Get the feeling that if / when we get more info, It's going to sound like a Mongolian cluster of huge proportions
-
David Tepper was never hiring that guy though.
-
Definitely would love to hear Staley's version of things because I'm pretty sure he'd take no prisoners.
-
As to Belichick or Harbaugh, I'm not on board with either of those guys. If I were forced to choose between the two, I'd definitely take Harbaugh. Belichick is washed. But I'd rather not have either one...

Even agreeing to that premise, he still should have been allowed to build his staff as he saw fit. And if he truly did want a different quarterback, that's who he should have been given. Telling a guy he has to do things your way and then firing him when it goes poorly is a sign of a really horrible leader.
-
Then talked him into hiring people that he wasn't familiar with and who had different philosophies to help him do the job. What I think we're going to see a lot of in future stories is the idea that Frank was just "too nice" and/or too cooperative / collaborative for the position he was in.
-
Heaven knows Reich Is a good person, and there's an argument to be made that being too much of a nice guy helped do him in. It's very possible that he wanted to give Brown his opportunity and may have tried to help him after realizing he just wasn't ready. Don't know. Gonna be interesting to see the stories that emerge after the season's over.
-
That's a narrative I'm not going to be too surprised to see people take up. Frank certainly did some things wrong, but there's an argument to be made that he just put in a terrible position.

That's probably a lot of us. He's smart not to discuss that in public though.
-
Brady went down a step to quarterback coach and got more experience. His second stint as an OC has a limited sample but so far looks better than his first one. Won't surprise me if Brown does the same thing.
-
The "we know we're already fired" part was essentially correct, but putting it in a way that made it sound like they were just going through the motions was a bad look. Don't know that it'll follow him given all the dysfunction this team has anyway, but it probably would have been better left unsaid.
-
It's not just the playcalling. He wrote the playbook. I would guess he'll get another job as a runningback coach somewhere, and maybe with more time he'll be ready to be an OC. Unfortunately for us, this is the second time in the last few years that we've put an "up-and-comer" in that spot only to find out they weren't ready yet.

This basically confirms that yes, it was his wife and the exchange was legit. And I'm pretty sure he does have a reaction to it, but he's wise to keep it quiet.

No idea, but the hope is that he gets someone he will listen to. That's one of my main reasons for supporting Brandon Hunt, even though I think Will McClay likely has a better resumé. -

It's what he's be advised, and likely expected, to do in his position. Whether or not you understood that as a team is on you. My belief is that we did understand it, but also believed it didn't make a difference.
