The whole "oh, it's just about money" thing is a pretty dumb argument. If they believed he was the guy they could build a consistent winner around, they wouldn't give a sh-t about that stuff. Wilson is being benched because he's not good enough.

The last leader of men we were offered wanted an OC whose currently being accused of running a high school level offense and a DC who'd pretty well proven he wasn't up to the task. It's the same as choosing political leaders because they give great speeches rather than whether or not they actually have a clue what they're doing.

That's being generous. His entire 7 minute rant is based on the 15 million a year rumor and it's full of completely idiotic takes. The video is garbage.

Well, only one of the two is currently expecting to be cut by his current team as of March. Hint: It isn't Bryce

I'd add with regard to Jackson in particular that the regular season isn't over and the playoffs haven't started. What does that mean? Well, a couple of the biggest criticisms of Jackson have revolved around games lost to injury and fading in the playoffs. Those two things haven't happened this season...yet. The above mentioned timeline means they still could, and even if they don't happen this year, they still could next. Always be careful about declaring victory before the race is over.

Tepper being “incredibly accountable” behind the scenes
Mr. Scot replied to Martin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wish I knew. Pretty sure I'll just be watching hopefully like everybody else -
That's been the guarding force behind sports talk radio pretty much since Jim Rome hit the scene. It's not about having a thoughtful discussion anymore. It's about having the hottest possible take (and having it first) then demanding everybody react to it. At some point, fandom decided dick measuring contests were more fun than thoughtful discussion.

Tepper being “incredibly accountable” behind the scenes

That thought occurred to me too, but I also have to think it would be an easy enough thing to check the report against some of the sources for the previous article to see if it bore up under scrutiny. -
Fitting end to this weekend's football activities...

I'm not making any predictions at this point. I just disagree with this being the way to go.

It could also be seen as a way of admitting he was wrong without fully admitting it.

Tepper being “incredibly accountable” behind the scenes
Mr. Scot replied to Martin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Russini is one of the better reporters out there. She doesn't do fluff pieces. Hell, she and Joe Person wrote the "Hunger Games" article ripping Tepper just a short time ago. Why on earth would they turn around and do a puff piece for him? -
Our buddy Casillas had a really interesting notion on that front... Back when Marty was still in charge (and there was no end in sight) many of us had this vain hope that he'd be "kicked upstairs" to a position where he retained administrative duties and general team management stuff but had no personnel authority. Casillas suggested that could happen to Fitterer, and it makes some sense. He's said to be well liked within the organization (not just by Tepper) and reportedly pretty good at the non-personnel related aspects of the GM job. I disagree with going that route because I think with the reports of a toxic atmosphere inside the team's offices - not to mention stories that Fitterer himself might have helped undermine Frank Reich - there's just no way you can keep him around. But looking at it from David Tepper's perspective, the idea might actually make some sense and could even potentially work If the toxic atmosphere stories are satisfactorily addressed.

Oh you can let me know, just not my wife

Hadn't looked at when they were drafted, but I know over the last several years Colbert and Tomlin weren't on the best of terms. The series of one year contracts Colbert took was partially because of a power struggle between them that Colbert ultimately lost. Bottom line for me, though. The Steelers are a mess right now, and the receiver room seems to be a big part of it (not just Pickens). That shocks me because I feel like in the past (hell, even just a couple of years ago) that sort of thing never would have been tolerated.

This year's Steelers...

I'm just disappointed nobody got the "ice is slippery" referenced, but I probably shouldn't be surprised

Also, post mortem...

Don't know if you made me, but I'm not twisting your words. I'm just disagreeing with you.

Why is it still a bad thing to call a QB a “game manager “??
Mr. Scot replied to recceice's topic in Carolina Panthers
It is sometimes on him too, though not in a malicious way. Cam Is that friend you have who you know is a good guy and means well, but sometimes says things in a way that gets him in trouble. We've known that all the way back since the "women asking question about routes" thing. You understand him, but others don't. And occasionally you hear him start to say something that makes you grit your teeth and think "no, stop, don't say that" but out it comes and here we go again. No, they're not bad and yes, they mean well. It just happens. And as a result they wind up having to explain themselves a lot. (or sometimes you have to do it for them) -
McCaffrey going Luke... There have been complaints that the Eagles offense has gotten predictable under Brian Johnson. McCaffrey could certainly add to that narrative here.

But the ice...is slippery 🫥
