Breaking, Ian Rapoport: Fitterer Fired

If you're gonna steal somebody from the Chiefs, it should be Mike Borgonzi. -

That's Richardson's point. Rhule had full control, but even after Rhule was gone he still had to work with Tepper. Beyond that though, Fitterer was willing to collaborate (read: submit) to the wishes of even assistant coaches like Ben McAdoo. Working for a head coach is basically the job, but if you start listening to everybody, you wind up with no vision of your own. Floyd Reese always said he hated having coaches take part in the scouting process. The ultimate finale here is a pretty good testimony that he was probably right. When everybody is in charge, nobody's in charge. -

Vincent Richardson... 100% correct Tepper absolutely needs to back off or nothing will change. -
Wonder if this is us (fans will be frustrated if it is)

Yeah. Pretty much an ego handler. Unfortunately, we seem to need one. -
They seem to be ready to interview anybody with a pulse.

Don't know. Haven't really looked at her much yet. I tend to favor people who've been at it longer, though. -
Aaaaand odd we go...

She's previously worked under Stephen Ross, so she speaks bullsh-t -

The social media thing was a big red flag. My guess is he'll catch on as a runningback coach again and maybe work his way back up. That or go back to the college level. -
With Panthers cleaning house how safe is Bryce

Not just yet. Best I can see happening in 2024 is veteran competition. Earliest potential replacement is likely the next season. -

Probably the head coach. I know it's ass backwards, but... -

Wouldn't bet on him being moved. Person pointed out that would require Tepper admitting he was wrong. -

More from Joe (same article as before)... There’s been some buzz that the Panthers could add a senior vice president of football operations to serve as a go-between for Tepper and the coach/GM. Dawn Aponte, the NFL’s chief administrator of football operations, would be a strong candidate for such a role. Now this is a name I know, not for personnel reasons though. More for personality and authority. If the idea is to get somebody that can tell David Tepper when he's full of sh-t, Aponte isn't a bad idea at all. -

I haven't researched her enough to know. -
I'd give that credit to Charlie Weis and Josh McDaniels way more than I would Bill Belichick.

Pretty much. What's sad is that a lot of what did him in was being too collaborative. But then a moment of selfishness is what ultimately sealed his fate. -

You don't have that kind of impact on me, dude But if it makes you feel good, I can let you think you do since, for whatever reason, I seem to be very important in your thinking. -

Lemme throw another potential name in here: Browns Assistant GM Catherine Raiche How good is she? Don't honestly know, but she's risen up the ranks and is generally considered likely to be the leagues first female GM. Gotta believe Tepper would love to be able to say he's the guy that hired her. -
Dan Morgan should be seriously considered for GM
Mr. Scot replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm worried Tepper will go for an analytics guy because he thinks it's the wave of the future and it'll be another chance to show he's smarter than everyone else. -
Different skill set. It's fair to question whether or not Johnson has the head coaching skill set, but there's no doubt he knows offense.
