No history of being that way that I know of. I thought his departure from the Ravens was generally amicable but I'd have to look back at it.

Number one right now is probably the Chiefs. Steelers had been the top of that list for years, though they're arguably not what they used to be. The Ravens under Ozzie Newsome, perhaps less so under Eric Dacosta but still up there. The Patriots, if you like the "evil empire" management model. The Cowboys might be if you exclude Jerry Jones from the situation, but you can't. The 49ers, Bills, and Rams have risen up on recent years.but are still in relatively new territory. Some might say the Browns should be in the discussion but the Deshaun Watson deal sinks that idea for me.

With Carroll out, don't know that there are any "full power / final say" coaches left. I know Tomlin is pretty powerful in Pittsburgh if he stays. Other than that...

Is flip-flop the Chargers and Raiders. New England I'm iffy on because you have to follow in the footsteps of Belichick and would have no say in the head coach since he's already hired. Also worth noting we're the only job in the group without a high (or any) first round pick.

The Panthers dismissed Scott Fitterer after three seasons, but by now we all know what we are dealing with inside the walls of any building where owner David Tepper resides. The view from the outside is one of an impulsive and sometimes overbearing personality who might insert himself and his opinions into any decision and situation, even if not qualified. This is not just my opinion. Others have said that listening to people who might be more qualified than him isn’t exactly Tepper’s strong suit. He might be the kind of guy who would call Tom Landry or Don Shula on the phone … and then do all the talking. He seems so lacking in self-awareness. Because of his deep pockets, which brought him this team, he wakes up on third base in the football world each morning and thinks he hit a triple to get there. In a business where decisions are best when backed by lifetimes of perspective and experience, a self-proclaimed instant expert makes me nervous. However, the positives are there as well. I haven't heard much about who, other than Tepper, is taking part in the process. Dan Morgan perhaps on the coaching side, but that'd be pretty damn awkward for the GM interviews. If it's all being done by the search firm, I'm not sure how comfortable I am with that.

Not really...What I'm against is the idea that you can easily quantify football analysis...or the kids even necessary to do so. It's one thing to take a look at a tackle and judge his knee bend. That's scouting. Now if you were to take a caliper and physically measure one guy's knee bend versus another, then declare that the second guy is better because his is a degree and a half deeper, that's analytics Tools like that work a lot better in a more stat driven individual sport like baseball. In a more physical sport where teamwork, cohesion and chemistry play a larger role like football, not so much.
