Same was true of Jeff George. Those guys just about always wind up being one or two year rentals... sometimes less Hell, people took chances on Diontae Johnson.
-
They are most definitely not out of the playoff hunt.
-
I didn't post that with any particular player in mind, just taking off on Linville's comment. Heaven knows a lot of coaches thought they could fix Terrell Owens.
-
Late season means he's subject to waivers. That doesn't necessarily improve the chances of him coming here, of course. We're not as high as on that list as we've typically been.
-
"I can fix her!"

More than one analyst has theorized that Burrow might follow in the footsteps of Andrew Luck.
-
The belief among insiders, beat writers, etc is pretty much universal that they'll pick up the option. As far as any sort of competition, wouldn't hold my breath
-
From what I've read, that would put them in cap hell for years

Meanwhile...

Heck, maybe he plays better than Tua and helps us Yeah

Tua is being benched...

Yeah, it wouldn't exactly have been Next Gen Stats back in those years. (Gen X Stats?)
-
He may have a DK Metcalf body but he's got a Plaxico Burress brain.
-
Yeah, that's unusual. Was it a big high school? I'm definitely not a fan of how dumbed down it seems like the NCAA has become. I've always acknowledged though that a college head coach's job isn't to get his players ready for the NFL. It's to win games, and for that you gotta do what works.

Canales and Evero were the guys I was looking at this past Sunday. There was also an unusual lack of discipline from our players, No I think a lot of folks blame the guys in the black and white stripes more. Brandon Staley is definitely winning in head to head competition vs Canales so far. Canales did a better job against him for about two and a half quarters but by games end our second tussle with the Saints for starting to more closely resemble the first one. Not gonna bother rehashing how I feel about Evero...

From the 70s through the 80s and a while after you could define most offenses as either Air Coryell, WCO (Walsh) or Erhardt-Perkins. The core philosophies of those systems are still around and I still use the terminology to describe concepys but I don't know that too many are strict adherents anymore. Reid maybe. Harbaugh is an old school kinda guy and Greg Roman is his OC so I'd expect a heavy WCO track. Carroll is using Greg Olson out in Vegas if I remember correctly. But yeah, with people style offenses being all but extinct at the college level, it's a tougher transition anymore... especially at quarterback and receiver. (remember one GM saying something like most college guys vouldn't recognize a route tree to save their lives)

He could be a threat for maybe a couple of games, and not necessarily in consecutive order. These days I think he's more of a threat to himself and his career
-
Or when we're playing the Saints I don't believe he's had a bad season overall but the Saints (and especially Olavé) have kinda roughed him up.
-
Legette and Mingo's issues can't rightly be laid at Bryce's feet.
-
I'm talking more Walsh style WCO than Coryell. I know they used to refer to Air Coryell with similar terminology but after Walsh blew up, I stopped hearing that term used outside of Walsh / Shanahan/ Holmgren and company.
-
Uh huh Let's just say in some of our prior conversations, what "we" know of Tepper hasn't exactly panned out on any consistent basis.
-
PSA: In the interest of clarity, the above reference is not meant as a direct comparison between Christian Rozeboom and Junior Seau. ... (I'd like for that to go without saying but my experience with these sorts of conversations, including today specifically, suggests that a disclaimer is warranted)
-
I wonder if there's an official tab on how many Junior Seau used to miss. That was one of the bigger knocks on him back in the day.
-
I mean, you can get away with a "straight line" style linebacker under some circumstances. I don't think we use him under those particular circumstances though, so...
