  1. He has to agree to the deal. Mind you, if the Ravens franchise tag him, they can match any offer. If they give him the exclusive franchise tag, then he can't negotiate with anybody with them. Technically they could still give him permission to negotiate with someone else but in that scenario, they're not bound by the "two first rounders" language. They can negotiate anything they want in return.
  2. Ellis Williams has an article about the Panthers and Jackson today. His conclusion is in the tweet but the article is behind a paywall so I couldn't tell you what his reasoning is.
  3. That's pretty much how it is for all of free agency. An agent can reach out to a team and say "Hey, would you like to negotiate with my client?" But If that team isn't interested, there's no recourse.
  4. It's been reported that the Jets personnel people actually wanted Carr but owner Woody Johnson wants Rodgers so they all have to go along. Johnson is the same guy who kept Rex Ryan around as his head coach because he liked his big talking personality. Whether or not the team was actually successful under him was apparently secondary. (talk about a nightmare)
  5. Breer believes it'll be the exclusive tag, but says non-exclusive is an option if the Ravens are just tired of negotiating and want to let somebody else do it for them...then match.
  6. It means he can negotiate with anybody but the Ravens have the ability to match any contract offer. If they choose not to match, he goes to the new team and the Ravens get two first round picks. He has to agree to the contract offer but he doesn't get to choose which team makes one.
  7. Quick reminder that the franchise tag deadline is at 4pm today
  8. Guessing the Packers gave permission
  9. Shaq hasn't seemed particularly agreeable to any sort of salary changes.
  10. Agree partially. I mixed up the final result with one of the other games, but not the details. Our offense was ineffective, but so was theirs until a late turnover. And Jackson was nothing special that day. That part I remember We didn't beat Burrow though. The Bengals doubled us up.
  11. Would you have asked them to sacrifice their interests for the sake of the franchise? Think the franchise would have reciprocated?
