  1. They'd still have to offer a contract that he would agree to. You can say that maybe they'd offer him a lesser contract than what's been advertised, but if they did why wouldn't the Ravens just match it? I don't really see this going anywhere.
  2. The guy who wouldn't guarantee Deshaun Watson's contract is going to guarantee this one? Don't think so
  3. Not so sure of that. If you were going to give up those kind of resources, why not just get a rookie?
  4. Looking like the smoke about Jackson to the Falcons might be real.
  5. Looks like this could genuinely be happening...
  6. If Brissett is your starting quarterback means he's keeping the seat warm for a rookie. It's an option. Entirely possible McCown might go to bat for him in that scenario.
  7. He has to agree to the deal. Mind you, if the Ravens franchise tag him, they can match any offer. If they give him the exclusive franchise tag, then he can't negotiate with anybody with them. Technically they could still give him permission to negotiate with someone else but in that scenario, they're not bound by the "two first rounders" language. They can negotiate anything they want in return.
  8. Ellis Williams has an article about the Panthers and Jackson today. His conclusion is in the tweet but the article is behind a paywall so I couldn't tell you what his reasoning is.
  9. That's pretty much how it is for all of free agency. An agent can reach out to a team and say "Hey, would you like to negotiate with my client?" But If that team isn't interested, there's no recourse.
  10. It's been reported that the Jets personnel people actually wanted Carr but owner Woody Johnson wants Rodgers so they all have to go along. Johnson is the same guy who kept Rex Ryan around as his head coach because he liked his big talking personality. Whether or not the team was actually successful under him was apparently secondary. (talk about a nightmare)
