Third round? Sure. So was Corral. But last year, there were fans and analysts alike speculating about him going #1.

[Yates] Carolina has signed G Michael Jordan
Mr. Scot replied to thunderraiden's topic in Carolina Panthers
 -
Don't remember. Feels like there were a couple who believed in taking him because of his tools and then teaching him how to be a pro quarterback. I just can't sign on to that approach at all.
 -
Yikes Mind you, I'd be pretty shocked if this happened, but at the same time it's obvious we've come a long way from people projecting him #1 overall last year.
 -
The way they're telling the story, it sounds Duke Lacrosse Team bad.
 -
	This story really went sideways...
 -
	That is pretty impressive
 -
The physical specimen quarterbacks are definitely fun to watch, but it's the best passers who win championships. If he's protected, I think Young has that kind of potential.

That particular concern doesn't go away now that he's drafted. Just the opposite, it becomes very real. Obviously we all hope it doesn't manifest into anything, but it's not going away.
 -
I would add also that if you read the entire column, you'll find King mentions and comments on Cam Newton's latest statement about why he's still unemployed.
 -
King's other comment about Young (while assessing team's chances for next year) Carolina. I don’t expect it to take long for Bryce Young to get up to speed in the Carolina offense, but what no one knows is if Young will be sturdy enough to make it through an 18-week NFL campaign.

	Re: the schedule...
 -
That's fair. And I'd like to think even the most diehard Panther fans would admit that working under Matt Rhule wasn't exactly a good situation.

Pretty much. When it comes to expectations for the Panthers, I'm one of the most cautious people you'll find. Yet even I'm excited about how smart Young is.

Jake and Steve wouldn't be in any position to influence personnel decisions. The front office is mostly turned over except for maybe Jeff Morrow who probably isn't that influential anymore. Deac is right about Morgan, but I still wouldn't see this as nepotism (KSpan is right there). Regardless, it's just a tryout opportunity to make it to the camp roster. I wouldn't bet on him making it to the final roster.

Is there anybody left from.Proehl's time here, though?

Another one falls into the trap that is Sam Darnold
Mr. Scot replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
In a limited role, yeah. Wilks shackled Darnold like he did Walker and put heavy emphasis on the run game. -
	Pretty much

Another one falls into the trap that is Sam Darnold
Mr. Scot replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't know if it's always excuses so much as there are people who really want him to succeed because he's a genuinely nice guy. Hell, I'd be happy to see him do well. I just don't have a lot of confidence that it's going to happen. -
Thanks, LP. Aside, I hate stadium naming rights deals. I miss when you just had a football name for the stadium.
 -
	I do not...but I don't follow many podcasts.

Panthers have one of NFL's most 'obsessive' fanbases
Mr. Scot replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
"Obsessive" sounds a little harsh to me. Not so sure about that... I'll probably comment more on this later. Right now I'm busy writing up a profile of people we could potentially add to our front office
