  1. For something like that, you might need to recalculate based on weather teams earned the first overall pick or traded up for it. (I don't really think that happens all that often though) But yeah, the truth is that a lot of quarterbacks taken high in the first round are going to teams who are regularly in that position for a reason.
  2. This is the kind of thing I talk about whenever somebody says they hope Player X signs with a team where he'll get a ring. Teams don't care about helping Player X get a ring. They care about winning.
  3. Missed it. Thanks. The message here isn't "I'm willing to be a backup". It's "I'm willing to be a backup on my terms for certain teams only", which conversely sends the message "I'm not willing to be a backup for teams I didn't name". The problem is nobody's thinking about him. By his own statement, his phone hasn't rung since he threw at Auburn's pro day. So he's in sort of a Catch 22 situation now. If he does nothing, nobody's calling. If he does something to try and draw attention, perhaps he gets a negative reaction but nobody was calling anyway. So what do you do?
  4. Unintended consequence might be to take him off the radar for teams he didn't name. Newton stated that his phone hasn't rung since he threw at Auburn's Pro Day. Guessing he expected that it would, but it sounds like there's just no market for him. This is clearly another attempt to create one, but I'm not sure it's gonna work anymore than the pro day thing did.
  5. Names I don't see... Patrick Mahomes Joe Burrow Justin Herbert Trevor Lawrence Russell Wilson Jalen Hurts Dak Prescott Daniel Jones Matt Stafford Kyler Murray Kinda curious why
  6. No, I get it. Can't fault them for it. It's just strange, like Terry Bradshaw being banished from the Steelers.
  7. Boy, there's something it's strange to hear
  8. This is where somebody cites the old statement about the best ability being availability. (in this case it's me, I'm the one who said it) I think that statement is essentially the nexus of everyone's concerns.
  9. Agree with this, though it's fair to point out Stroud's deep ball is better. Don't think anyone is that worried about how good he can play so much as they are how long he can keep playing.
  10. Is the situation better now, though? I know some would say it's always been this way, it's just open now. Maybe that's true, but is it a good thing? (granted, the Livvy Dunne thing kind of has its own questions)
