  1. Starting to agree with those who think we need just one merged megathread instead of a new thread every time someone else tweets that they think Bryce Young is the pick. One note regarding Jones: I've long been of the belief that he was the one who ultimately started the SI investigation into Jerry Richardson but wisely chose to remain behind the scenes.
  2. Again dude, you're bringing a lot of this on yourself though with the victim mindset I doubt you're going to see it that way. The best advice I could give you at this point would be to log off. If you really want to have football discussion, sign up with a different username and start over. You're pretty well painted yourself into a corner with your current ID.
  3. You haven't been helping anything "get back to football" dude, not in this thread or the others you're participating in. And the perpetual victim thing is just a path to nowhere.
  4. You mean like you've been doing? This is the problem: Everything you're accusing others of define your own M.O.
  5. Dude, if you wanna talk "immature", first look back at the things you've been posting and then stop trying to play the victim. There's plenty of good discussion to be had on this topic but you're not contributing to it.
  6. Something tells me our resident UNC fans might have some fun with this story... From the article... Davis also has faced multiple civil lawsuits in the past. For example, Davis and former Duke teammate Christian Laettner were once sued by former NBA great Scottie Pippen for failing to repay a loan in connection with an effort to buy the Memphis Grizzlies. “I have made business mistakes,” Davis said. “But in terms of character integrity, what I can say is that, unlike most, I didn’t file bankruptcy.” The aforementioned "business mistakes" have apparently involved taking out loans and not paying them back. There's also this, in response to suggestions that his backing money was coming from sources in Saudi Arabia... Ummm...Wow
  7. "I accepted (Young) once I decided to make this my username. His potential was too much to deny." "I chose this name as satire"
  8. Stay on your current path and I'm pretty sure @rayzor will be happy to "honor" you
  9. They'd have to trade up, and give up a lot to do so. I see zero chance of Stroud dropping to their spot.
  10. My reaction also If you were going for a comparison to a solid quarterback who had injury issues, I'd probably have gone for Chris Chandler. (granted Chandler wasn't as small as young)
  11. No mention of Mike Kaye? I think he's one of the best ones going right now. One of the things that makes him good is he's covered other teams before and has a real sense of the NFL as a whole, not just the Panthers.
  12. Maybe. We'll see. I'll grant you her touchdown celebrations are like nothing I've ever seen before.
  13. I don't know that a big wingspan helps a quarterback that much though.
  14. The Lance experiment in San Fran might be over
  15. I remember Frank Reich telling somebody in a previous presser, "I've heard about you" or "I know what you're doing" or some such, but I can't remember if it was Newton or somebody else.
  16. My issue with Tepper in the past has never been that he was too hands on. The problem was that he trusted the wrong people. That's the same thing that ultimately doomed Jerry Richardson before him. (well, that and blue jeans) Putting your faith in the wrong people is a cardinal sin in the NFL. It's done in a lot of franchises. Just a mistake that you cannot afford to make...
  17. You know my answer. Hell, I'd ask for more, but if that was the ultimate price I wouldn't scream.
  18. I get people wanting tough questions asked and all, but I'd point out a couple of things... One, in a press conference environment, there's really only so much a reporter can do. You can ask a question, but if it touches on any sort of information that the team doesn't want out there, they're just gonna give you a BS answer and there's not a lot you can do about it. For the most part, I honestly think the press corps we've got now between the established types like The Observer guys, Person, local TV types and the independent ones generally do pretty well. Some of it may be that we have more willing team personnel than we did under Richardson, but the result is better. And lastly, this isn't Watergate. It's football. Minus something like the Carruth story, you're still covering a game. Don't always take it so seriously.
  19. Just please no Aaron Rodgers attitude
