  1. You could combine the Great Chicago fire with every papal announcement in history and the constant fog around Tommy Chong but it still probably wouldn't come close
  2. I'm hoping, but also still concerned. (and I think that's reasonable) Either way, the history of the team has certainly seen good decisions I didn't agree with (disliked both Newton and Kuechly) and bad ones that I did (liked the choice of Kelvin Benjamin...oy ) but regardless of what happens, I always hope for the best once it's in the books. That won't change this year.
  3. That's my story and I am damn well sticking to it
  4. You heard a name or is it just "somebody" right now? As to why, might not be official yet. I know I've personally been hoping they'd somehow steal Lake Dawson from the Bills or maybe Trent Kirchner from the Seahawks. Hell, Jon Robinson is still a "free agent" if I remember correctly. And of course there's always Kevin Colbert
  5. The day I stop talking sh-t about the Cowboys, then you can say that. Until that time comes...
  6. Little early to laugh just yet... How many times have we seen news about Player X becoming the highest paid at their position ever followed up by career downturns or devastating injuries? That's a situation where Jackson might not regret it, but the Ravens could.
  7. Well we know Adrian Wilson is on board now as well as the special forces guy whose name I've forgotten. Haven't seen anybody really mention either of them much. Mind you, the offseason tends to be when changes like that get made but sometimes they're not announced until after the draft. I honestly can't recall hearing too many news items of that sort this year though (other than the ones mentioned). Typically Neil Stratton reports on those things and I haven't seen much out of him this year.
  8. On her way home from work, Lady Cowboy Fan called to advise me that in honor of the Panthers big day, she's planning to turn tonight's dinner into a "tailgate special" of pizza and wings Sometimes I ask myself whether she's a better woman than I deserve... Usually around that time, she does something to remind me that she's a rabid Dallas fan and, well...
  9. Is that from Corral's Twitter or something?
  10. If the ultimate outcome is that he got a little more money but still didn't get the fully guaranteed contract, I'm not sure I'd call that the Ravens "caving". And yeah, it was perfectly reasonable for them to hold their ground on that, especially for a guy who hasn't played a full season in a few years.
  11. Also possible that it didn't get reported because it wasn't actually true. Looking at some of the recent responses in this thread though, I think I can see where it's headed so I might turn my attention elsewhere
  12. Probably also be kind of a big thing In terms of how people see Eric DeCosta. I wouldn't say he's doing a bad job or anything, but he's not exactly Ozzie Newsome level just yet. (sentiments that many a Ravens fan has expressed over the last few years)
  13. If that's accurate that's...not what I'd call a huge increase (relatively speaking, of course). The guaranteed money is what everyone will be asking about though. The next question to be answered will be whether it turns out to be a smart deal on the part of the Ravens.
  14. Consider it a sign of just how cautious a person I am that I still said "if"
  15. Hence the "I can't say for certain" part...
  16. Well to put in another way, do you want to hear talking heads discussing Jackson as the Panthers are announcing their pick?
  17. That's gonna be the operative question... along with how much is guaranteed.
  18. I've only seen people say he was in the race. Haven't seen what I'd call actual evidence that he was a definitive number two. Full disclosure though, I'd be lying if i said I cared that much. The name of the first guy we didn't pick is only gonna matter to people who want to argue about it.
  19. Wonder how the league feels. The NFL tends to frown on teams making big announcements around the same time as their "big days" like the Super Bowl and the Draft.
  20. That's not what Joe actually said. Frankly, it isn't what Jeremy Fowler is saying either. Person only said that Richardson was "in the conversation" if the Panthers traded down. He ultimately believed CJ Stroud would have been the guy though. This is just Juan doing his usual clickbait.
  21. By all accounts it was a miscommunication, but the story of Steve Smith hearing that Marty Hurney had referred to him as "a marginal receiver" is a fun bit of Panthers lore
  22. Breer, Jeremiah and others mentioned the same thing...but came to different conclusions.
  23. Same...just not for us As long as the Panthers draft goes smoothly, I'll be happy to sit back and watch the rest of the league go to hell in a handbasket.
