I know 2025 feels like it was a century ago, but it wasn't really that long.

Not sure which "frat guy" you're talking about, but pro sports is definitely work if you're gonna be any good at it. Ask Steve Smith...or guys like Jerome Bettis who destroyed their body for the game.

Vastly overrated, but a big deal to the "highlight reel" scouts. Goofy as it sounds, I've actually had people tell me they'd just as soon watch an exciting loss as a boring win. Winning is never boring.
-
He's also 100% correct.
-
That's a lot bigger deal than some know or will admit. Fans love watching the guy with the rocket arm throw high velocity passes a lot more than receivers enjoy catching them. Hell, some of Favre's guys ended up with broken fingers
-
Wait till they throw a bad pass in the first quarter of their first preseason game. Then you can predict their entire career trajectory

There may be things that are sillier than proclaiming a player to be a sure fire draft bust or ready for their Hall of Fame bust based on early mini camp practices, but there aren't all that many. Nobody has a clue how good (or bad) any of these rookies are going to be. Hell, you still might not when this season finishes.

Fair point. I used the term generically, but if we're being fully accurate Florio doesn't break news so much as he repeats it and comments on it.

Changes to the Panthers behind the scenes staff
Mr. Scot replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Knew about Will Bryan. Not that familiar with the other guy. -
Watching those quarterback drill "highlights" coming out of Tampa, if I were a Bucs fan I'd be cringing right now. (as a Panthers fan I'm laughing my ass off)
-
The aforementioned "piss poor coaching" is probably responsible for more things than we'll ever know.
-
Florio trying to start sh-t... He's not content just breaking the news. He tries to create it.

Old friend alert...

I love those guys

I don't really think Hubbard is a bad runner. Heck, we've seen plenty of cases where he takes a handoff and runs like a freight train. Just don't ask him to catch a pass. And please, in the name of all that's holy don't put him out there to catch a punt

Sometimes that's your return guy too. Also, to be clear regarding our...slander victim here, as you may have guessed it's not just the team. He doesn't know the game. When it comes to even basic concepts that a lot of us learned in Peewee, Midget or Junior High ball, his foottball knowledge has been weighed, measured and found wanting And as I've repeated many a time, that's no big deal. You can absolutely enjoy football without knowing the difference between the Wishbone and the West Coast. Loads of people do. But if you're going to act like you know everything when the reality is that your game IQ is as limited as this guy's, getting "slandered" is bound to happen

We should sign Adrian Peterson as a backup
Mr. Scot replied to RIPTreyLance's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because the OP has heard of him. (that's some guys' only criteria) -
Very popular, especially after those dumbsh-t attempts to convince people we were still going after Deshaun Watson when he'd already agreed with the Browns. Pretty sure he's not a Panther fan. With the amount of time that he puts in trying to troll people though, I can't imagine he has much of a "real world" life. Sounds pretty pathetic, honestly. I mean, how desperate can one person be for any kind of attention?
-
Technically, if they had been looking for "most unpopular", I'd posit that "stupidest" would be a separate category. If that were the object though, then I'd say we do indeed "have a winner". (he's pretty consistently at the top of that measurement though, so no shock)

There are bad ideas and there are worse ideas, and then there's this...

Looks like the NFL is copying Panthers social media.

Quick FYI: Hopkins is actually in SC this weekend. How do I know? Lady Cowboy Fan and I went to dinner with a family member of hers in Clemson today. On the way back, we stopped at a grocery store where our cashier told us she had run into him at a gas station earlier in the day. He explained he was in town to attend the graduation ceremony at his high school. She'd had the chance to get a picture taken with him and showed it to Lady Cowboy Fan. I pulled up a pic online for comparison and yes, it was legit. So...what does that mean? It means he's in town to attend the graduation ceremony at his old high school and a local grocery store clerk got a chance to take a picture with him. Could the Panthers sign him? Sure they could, but I don't think that'll happen.
