  1. See, here's where there's a basic misunderstanding... I'm not propping him up. I'm saying there hasn't been enough time to rightfully evaluate him given the situations. You've got two years under Matt Rhule followed by a total coaching shift and a rookie quarterback. We're basically in the first season of Reich/Fitterer as a combo, and throw in additions like Adrian Wilson who came in too late to have much of an impact on this offseason but could be important next year. Throw in that the guy making the decisions is an owner who has no clue what he's doing and I'm just not up for resetting things all over again.
  2. Guys like Jim Rome and Colin Cowherd have dumbed down sports talk to such a ridiculously low level that hot takes and impatience are the norm. You've got people who actually think it looks smart to have a "take" on something immediately without seeing how things play out.
  3. You must not have been watching last game then.
  4. The Colts weren't exactly great in that department either. Gus Bradley compensated by bringing a lot of pressure knowing that our line wasn't handling it very well. Bears might try to do the same, especially with Montez Sweat.
  5. Pretty much... Hell, some of the best coaches and personnel people never even played the game above the high school or college level.
  6. There are QB School videos posted after every game with extensive analysis of his performance. How much are the resident hot take artists participating in those outside of dropping in to say "nyah he sucks" or "that guy doesn't know what he's talking about"?
  7. His comments about "game show, instant reaction culture" make it sound like he reads The Huddle. They also nail a lot of the responses in this thread. "Well, MY way too early hot take is RIGHT!!!"
  8. Fitterer has over 20 years of experience as a football scout and personnel guy. Morgan has a little over 10. And playing the game doesn't necessarily make you a good talent scout. Those are different skill sets. Their respective areas are of expertise are different. The vast majority of Fitterer's experience is in college scouting. Morgan has spent more time on the pro scouting side of things. That's his concentration with the Panthers. Perhaps most worth noting though, Morgan credits Fitterer for basically teaching him everything he knows about being a personnel guy.
  9. I've read some of her articles. She's a good writer. Sounds like her decision is personal, not necessarily related to the team.
  10. During the 2021 draft video, Tepper was seen telling a staff member that was on the phone with another team what to say in regard to a trade proposal. That'd be the most direct item.
  11. Hell, Richardson is out for the season.
  12. Also of note, Falcon beat writers have apparently taken a dislike to Arthur Smith...
  13. And now... It only gets weirder from here
  14. It was reported he'd be rejoining the Patriots practice squad, then he didn't. After all the weirdness that went on, I kinda doubt he's coming back.
