You are living in a parallel universe...or more correctly, a fantasy world. I like Steve Wilks, but as a head coach he's heavily overrated by the fanbase here for last season. Hell, he's running a defense with some of the best talent in the league and in danger of getting fired.

This is what that approach gets you. Football doesn't work like real world businesses, at least not established ones. It's closer to a start up that you have to get off the ground...repeatedly. Firing coaches after one or two years and thinking that will make you a winner is pretty much like guaranteeing your wealth and success by buying a lottery ticket.

Balls aren't much good without brains. Unless Davis goes outside for help, the next GM and coach will still be his pick. (and probably be lousy...again)

That guy has a similar name to a legit account I've seen. He got me once before -

Agreed. But this is something... How exactly does something like that happen? -
Speaking of people who are on the hot seat...

FYI: Post trade deadline tends to be a good time to watch the waiver wire. Guys that teams were looking to get something in return for often end up being released if no trade partners are found.

I'd probably take water as a playing surface over turf 🫥

I remember looking at that last week and thinking "What the hell?"
-
Possible. Speculation that he was getting fired might have just been wishful thinking on fans' part.

Wouldn't bet on it, but that'd be a dumbsh-t call if he did, basically saying "I don't like this roster but I'm not letting you make any moves to try and improve it". I think it's more likely they just decided against trading away anything more. That's consistent with what Dan Morgan said in his presser a short time ago. And given how much we gave up to get Young already, there's some logic to that. -

I don't really think it's so much that we need an "upgrade" as we need a different type of blocker. Ickey isn't really built for a zone blocking, WCO type scheme. That typically involves a lighter, more agile type of LT. Heck, if he were still healthy It might have been as simple as flip-flopping a Ekwonu and Christensen. -

There is a certain logic to saying "Hey, after we gave up all that already, why give up more?" -
When you hear people talk about coaching up guys to play quarterback in the pros, this is the kind of thing that they have to learn.

The part that always gets forgotten in the "why didn't we trade that guy" question is that somebody else has to be willing to trade for them. It's borderline miraculous that we got compensation for guys like Greg Little and Robbie whatever his name is now, but you can't count on stuff like that happening all the time. -

Compensation on Rasul Douglas... I liked him when he was here.
