Welcome aboard. Throughout the offseason, the NFL only counts the top 51 salaries on the team. They know it'd be pretty much impossible to fit 90 players under a cap (especially for some teams) so they don't make anyone try. Once the actual season starts, then everybody counts. That includes guys on the practice squad and injured reserve.

They generally list the guys who have agreed to terms. May or may not list tryout players. Since the team only signed 7 UDFA players, it would seem there are a few roster spots open for the tryout guys. Bonner has a tryout with the Redskins also, I believe.

Believe it or not, I actually saw some mildly positive posts from ShelbyPanther this weekend. I guess miracles happen.

I assume they're going by watching his on-field play, but other than looking for obvious dumb mistakes (which isn't so easy unless you can see the playbook) I don't know how you can judge that.

Closer comparison to the Carruth situation (again, if he is involved, which is unknown). And to be fair, the police generally never tell anyone that they're a suspect when they want to question them. All that said, I kinda think if they were considering him as a suspect, they'd probably be more aggressive than to just accept "I'll talk to you Monday". So... If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say he'll be free and clear after they talk to him on Monday; but again that's purely a guess.

If that happens, I'll give Zod permission to email every 'ugly' joke I've ever made to Andrew Norwell.
