"Slow Ass Thielen" has been the best target we've had though.
-
I'd say the receiver spot could be an issue there as well. What you want ideally in a WCO is a set of receivers who have great run after the catch ability. I don't see very much of that on our team.
-
The stories that he was an extremely difficult person to work for are certainly looking more credible at this point.
-
Regardless of who's calling the plays... I know people were looking for the switch from Reich to Brown to make a big difference, it really didn't.
-
The question becomes what will they do in the coming offseason? You certainly can't install an entirely new offense in the middle of the year, but you can tailor the attack to your personal plenty over a full offseason. That, or you can make some changes to the line so that they better fit what you want to run.
-
This is the most important part. Hold off on anything else until this is done.
-
I'd expect he was always going to go into it with a West Coast based scheme. BUT... Per his own words, Reich stated that he wanted to tailor the scheme to fit the players rather than the other way around. It doesn't look like he's doing that.
-
Not if Tepper is still the one making the decisions.
-
One of my biggest complaints in the regular work world was when decisions were made by people who were ill-informed to make those decisions. That's a problem no matter where it happens.
-
Yeah, that guy. My two big complaints about Reich so far are that and questionable depth chart decisions.
-
I haven't followed it super closely, but from what I've seen they sent a staffer named Connor Stallions (apparently his real name) to other games where he managed to get on the sidelines with Google glasses type equipment and steal signs, even from lesser schools like Central Michigan. Word was that Michigan was ready to offer Jim Harbaugh an extension that would have made him the highest paid coach in college football, but now that's been delayed. It's insane.
-
The guy who would have been in the best position to foresee that would have been Reich himself. Nobody was going to know his offense better than him. I would like to know what his opinion of that was, but I doubt we ever will.

Bryce defenders, please give me a reason why you're still hopeful

Mind you, this isn't NFL but damn...

This time last year I'd have said that the offensive line was pretty well set, we had a lot of good players on defense and the biggest need outside of quarterback was to upgrade the skill positions. What complicated things of course was that changing coordinators meant changing schemes, which meant that some of the players we had expected to keep no longer suited what we were doing. Unfortunately, the OL scheme change just made it that much worse.
-
Next year though... Ouch

Meanwhile... Yes, this was a thong...I mean thing
-
That's what scares me...

When you go back to the draft videos, you'll hear Tepper talk about how crazy it was to hear Bryce Young breaking down a play that he was given during their dinner. I think if there was a point where Tepper decided Young was the guy, that was probably it.
-
You know I love the "football consultant" idea, but I wouldn't want anybody hired or fired until that guy is in place and has had a chance to evaluate everything. David Tepper just needs to sit on his ass until someone smarter than him is in place.
-
If you ask a lot of GMs what the foundational pieces for a team are, they'll often say quarterback, left tackle and pass rusher. The belief last year was that we had two of those three.
-
Especially problematic statement... "This is why David Tepper has been successful in business, because that's the way he operates." That's fine in business. In football, not so much. Football is an area where David Tepper doesn't have a clue, and if he thinks he can just operate a football team the same way he would a hedge fund, he's an idiot.
-
That's...not good.
-
Is Steve Reed checking the Huddle? And to be clear, It's not necessarily that David Tepper made the pick himself, but that he influenced the pick in any way would still be unacceptable.
-
Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll have probably improved the Giants overall, but the decision to go with Jones with Still a head scratcher.
