  1. If he keeps up, there could come a time when people start wondering how this guy slipped to the second round. (and I wouldn't mind that at all)
  2. Don't be too impressed. He's Canadian, so it's in centimeters.
  3. Appreciate the commentary, Hawk. I'd also like to know how the fanbase in general is reacting. Do they think the Panthers drove Wilson's price up? Are they happy someone set the market? More concerned about Luck now? What are they saying?
  4. Just let Shula call plays till we get to the red zone, then have somebody else take over till we score. I'm sure he'd agree to that, right?
  5. I've found I worry less about coaching decisions when I see the roster stocked with good players.
  6. When he smiles, it makes me wonder who he just killed.
  7. If thus dude plays even half as mean as he looks, we've got a winner.
  8. Cool one, dude. Amazed no one's posted the Rob Ryan ones yet.
  9. Hawk, if you're reading this, I swear I didn't start this as a smack thread.
  10. Do they think Wilson will be 'paid' or 'overpaid'?
  11. Hey Hawk, How has the Seattle fanbase reacted to Newton's contract numbers as they pertain to Wilson's potential deal?
  12. You could start a 'which would you choose' thread. I think it would make for a pretty good discussion.
  13. I'm betting that once the numbers for those contracts are finished and announced, we'll gain an even greater appreciation for the wisdom of that decision.
  14. Even the top middle linebackers don't make quarterback money. I suspect Luke will probably have little to nothing to do with his contract talks. Kuechly strikes me as a 'talk to my agent about that stuff' type.
  15. The thing about this contract's structure is that it plays very well into our cap situation.
  16. I'm sure Hapless will suggest that we should trade him at some point.
  17. Assuming some of those aren't handled next year. (which I'd say is very possible)
  18. Worth noting that front loading is better for both sides. Us for cap reasons, Newton for something else. What a lot of teams have done with in the past is backload big contracts. The result was a load of money that made the player happy because he thought he'd get it, and made the team happy because they knew he wouldn't. We didn't do Cam that way.
  19. So 3.6 million in cap added over the past two days.
  20. High guarantee, but not the kind of blockbusting "blank check" contract that some were expecting. Good contract for both sides.
