Also dear Saints fans, next time you face us you won't have Drew Brees and we won't have a roster that was put together by Marty Hurney.

Mentioned it elsewhere: I once heard someone say that the length of the average NFL career is "one year too long". That probably applies to Brees right now.

I think it's very likely. Lots of things can happen though.

He's not necessarily hearing a rumor. Just connecting the dots. Yeah, it's possible. But it might not happen quickly.

Seeing Mike McCarthy in Dallas this year makes me wonder how Green Bay got anywhere with him. Lotta people said it was Rodgers.

I know football, and I find it very funny. Wilson is a good quarterback, but he's not Aaron Rodgers good. The only guy in the league right now that I could see placing over Aaron Rodgers is maybe Patrick Mahomes.

Marino was damn good. He could make a decision in a fraction of a second and put the ball in the exact right spot.

Rodgers is physically superior to Brady. They're both pretty accurate. Brains? Probably give the edge to Brady but I don't know that it's by as huge a margin as you might think.

Time frame and contracts. Scouts and personnel people are going to be busy pretty soon. It's easier to just go with the people we have for now. That, plus these days a lot of front office and scouting people's contracts expire around draft time

From reading what they've posted, especially the thing about Bevell, I think they're just making logical guesses based on actual news items. Surprised they'd expect that to work. When people see that stuff not happening it's going to be kind of obvious.

Part of that could have been that Bieniemy mentioned really wanting to work with Newton. Tepper felt differently.

Might be a while. Those sorts of changes tend to come after the Draft.

Assistant GM would be a promotion for Morgan. Teams were able to refuse us permission to interview guys last year because we weren't offering a position that included roster control. The NFL changed some of those rules for this year because the Patriots kept screwing guys like Nick Caserio and Monti Ossenfort out of better opportunities, but I don't know if those changes would affect this sort of thing or not.

I've heard speculation that his interviews have gone poorly but I really don't know how seriously to take that. Could easily be bullsh-t. What is valid though is that working under a coaching genius has hurt a lot of guys' prospects in the past. Is that fair? Probably not, but it's at least somewhat understandable. Specific to Reid though, he has a good coaching tree but guys like Matt Nagy and even Doug Pederson probably aren't exactly helping Bieniemy right now.
