  1. On this, we agree. I think Fozzy played only sparingly last night because he's safe, and I agree he should be. He's arguably the best screen pass runner we have. The fight for the final RB spot was between Wegher and Todman, and I think Todman won. And while it is very possible Wegher gets picked up on waivers, I don't buy that it's an absolute lock.
  2. I'm more of the mind that just making any change because we've got to do something is kinda silly. If you're gonna make a move, have a good reason to do it. And make sure it's something that makes sense in the long term, not just the short term. Basically, think like Gettleman, not like Hurney.
  3. Ah yes the old "they used to be good, so they must still be" logic. Lord knows that argument never fails. Reality: Those guys aren't as good as you think they are. And if passing on them is some huge mistake, it sure seems like one an awful lot of teams were willing to make.
  4. I can tell you a big part of the issue is some of our loudest complainers put way too much value on guys that they think we should have gone after. Afraid I just don't buy the notion that guys like Hakeem Nicks, Denarius Moore and the like would mean a receiving corps that puts the fear of God in people. (it's just trading one set of marginal/backup quality guys for a different set)
  5. Trade the next two first rounders for a veteran name people have heard of with only one year left on his contact. Then smile and say "hey, we did something".
  6. The notion that a loads of other teams out there are so stacked at receiver that they'll surely part with one that'd instantly upgrade our passing game is pretty much a myth.
  7. I'm pretty sure if either Gettleman or Rivera are someday "termed", absolutely nobody will cite the release of Paul Browning as one of the mistakes that brought them down.
  8. I have plenty of criticism for Shula, but it's not his job to hold on to the ball.
  9. First today. And perhaps more meaningful since it's Preseason Three. I know some have been predicting doom and gloom since the first play of week one.
  10. Seventy posts in and nobody's posted Derek Anderson's "I take this s--t seriously" pic?
  11. Not surprising. Belichick is well known to be a petty, vindictive little asshole who takes every real or imagined slight personally and carries a list of grudges longer than the federal tax code.
  12. Knew jokes like this were coming.
  13. To be fair, it's it's probably better than spending time on Saints Report.
  14. Maybe Brady will still be adjusting to having to grip bigger balls.
  15. I'm not worried about the final score. If we don't look good though, I'll be quite worried. Preseason Three is the closest you can get to a regular season preview. Zod is right. Looking bad here is a genuine cause for concern.
  16. Preseason three is the game every team puts more effort into. It's considered to be the "dress rehearsal" for the regular season.
  17. But then our backfield would wind up wasting its best young talent in favor of older players and would ultimately fold.
