You know where else you see an awful lot of poor tackling these days? In the NFL. The contact rules that the NFLPA got put into the last CBA have made good tackling a rare commodity (sadly). That, plus you've got lots of guys wanting to make the highlight reel with big hits. Textbook tacklers like Luke Kuechly are increasingly difficult to find anymore.

The problem with Hurney was never the positions he picked. It was the players. Hurney had no real talent evaluation experience, and it showed. Beyond the first round it was a total crap shoot.

I'm actually reminded more of Jonathan Stewart, specifically because of his balance. He's got that same weeble-like quality Stewart has, meaning you have to wrap him up to stop him. Just hitting him isn't likely to knock him off his feet.
