  1. Like I said, it explains a lot. Gantt said many times that as far as Richardson was concerned, Hurney was GM for life if he wanted to be. He would never have been fired if he hadn't basically volunteered to fall on the sword. The fact that he was willing to work without a contract lent to that idea as well.
  2. Not liking the sound of this, but unfortunately he's probably right.
  3. Two more franchise tags announced... The Jags are franchising OT Cam Robinson and the Bucs are tagging WR Chris Godwin.
  4. And with our record being exactly 500 over the tenure of his ownership, it could also be said that he got exactly what he earned.
  5. Definitely. Of course, having an owner who judged the quality of the draft primarily by the first round probably made it easier to be a mediocre GM.
  6. Mentioned elsewhere, but I remember when that scandal broke and he announced that it would be handled by "internal investigation". I think he genuinely believed the "good old boy" network of the NFL would cover for him. Yeah...Not in this day and age. His face when he found out they wouldn't probably looked a lot like those pictures.
  7. I quoted that to my mom once. Her response? "Well, either way you're gone"
  8. To be fair, Teddy wasn't running around because he tended to get the ball out pretty quick. As to the quality of our OL, there's two grades: With Okung healthy - Decent Without Okung - Garbage
  9. All about the first round pick...
  10. I've seen some speculation that the Patriots will go heavy after Samuel.
  11. It's a fair point though. How confident would you be staking your reputation on somebody you haven't really been able to fully scout?
  12. On the flipside... While I would absolutely love to have him here, gotta figure he will be ex...pen...sive
  13. There was a thought they might wait with the possibility of the tag deadline being pushed back, but there's been no word on that so they would have had only until 4pm today. That'll adjust our available cap.
  14. Except that's not what he said... Breer said that as far as the final outcome, i.e. whether he's traded, sits or decides to play, nobody knows what will happen. He believes however that if the outcome is him being traded, it will happen quickly and suddenly. A similar sentiment was posted in one of his prior MMQB columns.
  15. Patriots get an upgrade at left tackle...
  16. Better informed people than Sileo have said the Texans aren't interested in Watson.
  17. To quote Ron Simmons, "Damn". I haven't followed his story much outside of hearing he's kind of a malcontent so I don't really know how it got to this.
  18. So it turns out you didn't even have to give up a 7th round pick, just swap spots.
  19. ...due to the salary cap number not yet being settled (per Rapoport) For now, the deadline is still 4pm tomorrow. Moving it back would be good for the Panthers in that it'd give them additional time to negotiate with Taylor Moton. Rapoport has stated that both sides are open to a long-term deal. It's just a matter of getting something done. Free agency starts in nine days (3/17).
  20. Valid point... Zero chance of Wilson to Dallas now.
  21. Didn't say what round. No way it's round one.
  22. Imagine if he had. Marty Hurney working for Jerry Jones is a reality show I'd watch regularly.
