I've been a fan of Schultz since he was with the Cowboys.

Bills fire OC Ken Dorsey, promote former Panthers OC Joe Brady
Mr. Scot replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
He might be better suited for that game. At the pro level, so far it looks like his best position is as a quarterback coach. -

Did you mean Herbstreit? -

It's possible that the combination of Daboll as OC and Dorsey as QB coach was just a lot more effective than the current setup...for all parties, honestly. -
Article from Franks time with the colts….sounds very familiar
Mr. Scot replied to Tbe's topic in Carolina Panthers
The top thing that I got out of the article is that he needs a really good OC, which honestly isn't a startling revelation. In our case he went with an up-and-coming coach who'd never really been a full NFL OC before. Might have been better off to go with somebody experienced. -

The most easily fixable thing right now would be the scheme. We've seen no indication that there are going to be major changes to that though. -

Also wouldn't make much sense to be scared of deep passing when you know the quarterback is likely to be put on his back long before anything like that can even develop... -
Bills run game (and why we're absolutely awful schematically)
Mr. Scot replied to lightsout's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's been brought up by several analysts and someone (Sheena Quick I think) asked a question about it in Reich's most recent press conference. His response was that they had no intention of going "smashmouth". Whether it's come up internally or not though, no idea. I do know that Diana Russini said Panthers brass are trying to get Reich to run something closer to Young's college offense (more RPOs and such). -
We've talked before about skill sets. There are brilliant doctors who can't balance their checkbooks... High priced lawyers who don't understand simple home maintenance... Orators who can deliver stirring speeches but stink at interpersonal communication... ...and plenty of other examples. Even if you're in intelligent person, you might not necessarily have the skill set needed to accomplish certain tasks. I'd say that sums up David Tepper pretty well.

A typical West Coast offense will feature receivers and backs who can take a short pass for a long gain along with at least one deep threat receiver to spread the field. We don't really have that. The one part of a good WCO that we do have is a reliable possession receiver in Adam Thielen. -
He is when it comes to football. And as mentioned above, it's not just the Panthers that are showing signs of a toxic environment. Pretty much all of his sports ventures have shown the same issues.

Allen is the prototypical "big arm" guy who can also run. Fans love that kind of quarterback, but history shows their success has limitations. -
Also worth mentioning that this isn't just happening with the Panthers. You've got both the soccer team and the business of Tepper sports and entertainment showing the same issues.

Those are really good analyses. I'd add in what Kirk Herbstreit said... -
In a man / power, run heavy scheme like we had last year. If you want to put them in a zone blocking scheme for a WCO, you have to make some adjustments (Ickey to guard, someone more agile to left tackle).

Albert Breer: both Reich and Fitterer back in ‘24
Mr. Scot replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
That means blaming him for the Rhule years though. Would that really be a fair thing to do? Besides that question though, we came out of the Rhule situation with pepper deciding to give more power to Fitterer. Does he change his mind on that this quickly? -
Bills fire OC Ken Dorsey, promote former Panthers OC Joe Brady
Mr. Scot replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dorsey is being fired because he took what was a very effective offense and made it worse. Not only is that not an equivalent situation, but it's also not exactly a ringing endorsement to hire him in an equal or higher role somewhere else.
