  1. Saw it reported that he has a neck injury. Maybe he shouldn't. Albert Breer did say that the Chiefs have a lot of trust in Chad Henne.
  2. I kind of do too, but the phrase "better them than us" helps make those feelings go away.
  3. 49ers are an option too. I believe I saw that he's a fan of Kyle Shanahan's system (but what quarterback wouldn't be?) There's also the factor that Adam Peters and Nick Caserio were colleagues for five or six years in New England. That could help grease the skids for an acceptable trade arrangement.
  4. Yahoo points out that Marty started off covering the team for a Washington newspaper. It's kinda like if Joe Person or Pat Yasinskas was named GM of the Panthers.
  5. Gotta say, the feeling of relief I had when they fired Marty was great. It intensified when they hired someone I felt was a good choice in Scott Fitterer. Marty made cheering for the Panthers difficult because it always felt like a lost cause. It was like tuning into a Syfy original movie with the hope that maybe this time the acting and the special effects were really going to be good. You could make an effort to be as optimistic as possible but deep down you knew that in the end, you were gonna be disappointed. I understand how you feel, Washington fans. But no offense, better you than us.
  6. Never noticed that. Joe Schoen looks like he just hit the lottery in this clip.
  7. You're making waaaayyy too much of this for reasons I can't begin to fathom.
  8. The part that's relevant to the Panthers starts a little after 2:45
  9. Marty was still GM at the time. Heck, Rhule had only been here a little over a month or so. And as mentioned, Zack doesn't post all that often. But when he does, you can count on it.
  10. Video of the Bills war room laughing and celebrating after we drafted Greg Little, thus allowing them to take Cody Ford.
  11. Watson is reportedly a big fan of Robert Saleh.
  12. Neither Zack nor anyone else ever said he did it over Rhule's objections, only that Marty was the guy who was lobbying for him the hardest. As to Zack, his track record for inside information speaks for itself. He doesn't need me to defend him.
  13. Panthers WTF Actually, Washington Ex-Panthers probably sounds better.
  14. Ron always mentally distanced himself from his failures. It was never a coaching failure, always players failing to execute. He and Marty are good friends, so perhaps that same mental defense mechanism extended to him as well.
  15. The Greg Little pick seems like it might have been the proverbial straw that's broke the camel's back. (that Buffalo video...my word)
  16. What's funny about that is that making those safe choices helped cost him his job here, and very easily could there too.
  17. The unfortunate thing there is that he was also the guy who hired the scouts that evaluated the prospects. Marty had zero experience as a scout or talent evaluator before he was elevated to a job where you really really need to have those skills. Richardson making him GM was like taking a kid that worked in the mailroom and making him CEO of a major corporation.
  18. Fair. Ron would have known Cowden from his time here, though. Seriously, even last night after we heard the story, I still believed Washington would hire someone else and make Marty a consultant or something. Then I wake up to this...wow.
  19. Albert Breer covered it yesterday. Tepper wanted somebody that bought a different skill set. The analytics guys that were included in the search were his choice. Matt Rhule wanted a talent evaluator that could help him build a roster. After they went through the first set of candidates, they couldn't find anyone they agreed on so they decided to "reset" and add a couple of new interviews. One was a cap guy (Omar Khan) and the other was a scout (Fitterer). They chose the scout.
