For what it's worth, FS1 guy quoting Albert Breer... -

Dave Birkett covers the Lions for the Detroit Free Press. Guesses from what I've been reading would be the Rams of the 49ers. Colts are possible too I suppose but the other two sound more likely. There was word that we checked into it, but I seriously doubt we're involved anymore. -
Funny thing is that these were prepared remarks. His game speeches obviously aren't going to be rehearsed (and just as well). For my part, I guess I'd say with regard to both he and Dan Campbell that it's gonna matter a lot more whether they can coach than whether they can speak. Guess we'll see how that works...

Panthers let go of a couple of front office guys

Funny to think about it, but Rivera has been rebuilding his version of the Panthers up in Washington since he got the job. Now with Marty there, he's pretty close to the goal. Meanwhile, we're shaking off the last vestiges of the Richardson era and building something new. The upcoming offseason will have little to no influence from anyone of that period. So now we watch and see what direction these two franchises take. -

Makes me wonder if he wanted to go to Washington. Regardless, he's not gonna be part of this year's scouting process. -
Probably should have sold him to a fence.

Looked up an old friend of ours. The second tweet was written in response to Jeremy Fowler's mention of the Rams as a possible Matthew Stafford destination. So yes, the Rams are talking about trading Goff. And yeah, given that the Lions GM is one of the guys who chose Goff in the first place, it's a very plausible option. Will it happen? No idea. If it does, it'll be complicated as hell. But it's being explored. -
The Twitter page that rumor comes from isn't a good source. There's no confirmation from any reliable source that I've seen.

That tweet comes from the same bullsh-t site that posted Joe Brady was leaving. It was posted as a joke in response to someone saying they liked Twitter sources. -

Well again, Brad Holmes probably doesn't see it that way. Maybe he believes a different situation and a new coaching staff will make the difference. Also possible that having a quarterback he doesn't have to coach up so much might appeal to Sean McVay. -

Perhaps, but you're not the former college scouting director who was part of a braintrust that believed Goff was not only deserving of the number one overall pick, but also worth the additional picks that it took to trade into that spot. The guy who does fit that description? He's GM of the Lions right now. -

Well remember, the Rams don't have a first rounder. But also, remember who the Lions hired their GM from? -

I'd need to hear it from another source before I'd take it seriously. This one comes from the same Twitter that somebody posted a couple of bullsh-t rumors from a few weeks ago. -
The "long toothed" guys weren't the only ones saying it. Heck, that was the season you had all the guys getting together for team pictures on the sidelines after we won (and sometimes even before). Everybody was having fun that year.

PFT points out that the Rams don't have a first round pick to offer. Makes me think they'd have to give the Lions something else of value. Like maybe...I dunno... -
You must not have been paying much attention in 2015 then. There were multiple articles posted that year from guys like Jared Allen, Peanut Tillman and others praising the chemistry in the Panthers locker room. Guys talked about it being one of the best they'd ever been in.

To clarify, the trades can't actually be made until March. Teams can, however, agree to terms. -

Side Note: Just saw our old buddy Dom Capers is joining the Lions coaching staff as a senior defensive assistant. I remember his first press conference. It wasn't anywhere near as entertaining as Dan Campbell's.

It's been a fun offseason for introductory press conferences. That's for sure.

Fitterer mentioned guys that had a passion to play as something they look for in Seattle.
