  1. And the Texans aren't morons. Actually they are, but Caserio isn't. If anybody thinks they're going to get Watson without making a deal that hurts, they need to rethink it.
  2. The framework John McClain mentioned included two defensive starters. I seriously doubt they can be talked into seeing the immense value of Shaq Thompson.
  3. With them needing to replace JJ Watt, there's no way you get a deal done without offering Burns.
  4. I'd say it's the second. What the organization has been putting out there is it would take a bigger deal than has ever been made in history.
  5. McClain is anything but a Texans mouthpiece. You should read some of the stuff he's written about Cal McNair, Bill O'Brien, Jack Easterby and others.
  6. I'm not so sure they will. As to the Jets, Watson is reported to be a big fan of Robert Saleh. Have also heard it said that he has family in New York but I can't verify that.
  7. Just to be clear, McClain still doesn't believe that the Texans will trade Watson. He's also said that if they do, the only team that has a realistic chance is the Jets because of what they can offer in return. He's giving a framework for a starting offer if they change their minds, but he doesn't believe they're going to change their minds.
  8. Defensive starters. And in all likelihood, one of them would have to be Brian Burns because they need to replace JJ Watt.
  9. If you believe you're not losing much in trading a player, what makes you so sure the Texans would be interested in them?
  10. They're needing to replace JJ Watt. You might be able to negotiate on the second player, but there's no way that first one isn't Brian Burns.
  11. They're looking at replacing JJ Watt. I don't really think Yetur Gross-Matos moves the needle to that level. if the framework is two young defensive starters, one of them has to be Burns. You can negotiate on the second one but I don't see any chance Burns gets left out.
  12. People have been talking about McCaffrey but yeah, it sounds more like Burns and Chinn. Makes sense knowing that they're losing Watt. For the record, McClain still doesn't believe they'll trade Watson at all, and if they do not likely to anybody but the Jets, but he's offering a starting framework for a deal anyway.
  13. Didn't actually mention Stafford at all, just Goff and Wentz. Makes sense to frame them together given when and where they were taken.
  14. And then Dan Snyder comes in off his yacht and makes the pick.
  15. In this framework, Teddy is a broken down car being towed.
  16. Rhule also tried to recruit Jones to Baylor before he went to...a larger school. I think Rhule is genuinely high on Jones, and when he gushes about him I think he means it. All that doesn't necessarily mean he'd draft him at #8 though.
  17. The guy who was the Rams college scouting director when they did it is now the Lions GM that traded for him.
  18. Rhule and company had a week to get to know whatever they wanted to about Jones. They publicly raved about him, though that doesn't necessarily mean they'd draft him at number eight. The feeling it gives me though is that if they do (or don't) I'm probably gonna trust that decision.
  19. I'd be willing to bet that after a week of coaching him, Rhule and his staff are well informed as to whether he has those things or not.
  20. Trading for Watson at this point is likely to cost your firstborn and your immortal soul. I just don't see it happening.
  21. This pic's been making the rounds on Twitter since yesterday Wouldn't surprise me if Rhule gave Bridgewater a similar look at some point last year.
  22. I was right about the possibility of the Rams and Lions swapping starters, but severely underestimated the Panthers interest in Stafford.
  23. I'm not the world's biggest Matt Stafford fan, but I probably could have lived with it. If he performed well this coming season, that would have made it a lot easier. I can, however, now be glad that I don't have to wrestle with that dilemma. As to the Lions, having the number seven and number eight pics would have given them great ammo to trade up and get one of this year's top quarterbacks.
  24. I'm not necessarily ready to believe in another season of Bridgewater just yet. I do however think it's possible this might not be the year that we get our franchise QB.
