  1. You were optimistic about Hurney. Now you're down on Fitterer and Rhule? Dude!
  2. Not just the refusal, but also that he actually thought he could get away with something like that. That's a pretty clear indicator of "stupid".
  3. Yeah, was talked about here a while back. Came from someone who was at the Senior Bowl practices. Might be in one of the draft forum threads. Don't know.
  4. Kid reportedly declined to take part in a drill that Rhule assigned him to.
  5. The elevator thing happened last year. The other story was this year.
  6. Meanwhile, in non Super Bowl news...
  7. Interesting tidbit here... There was a report that Watson, through his agent, had said that he wouldn't take part in any of the Texans offseason activities. His agent called bullsh-t. So does that mean he would show up for offseason workouts?
  8. Seriously. Do these kids think NFL teams are just lining up for the opportunity to hand them millions of dollars?
  9. If I recall correctly, there was some talk that certain players in this Senior Bowl absolutely crossed themselves off the Panthers list with their attitudes (might have been Phil Snow that said that, not sure). I know there was a report that Rhule asked one young safety to cover a tight end or a receiver and he refused. Rhule isn't gonna talk publicly about those guys, of course.
  10. Luck was a "Ryan Grigson is a dumbass" issue. Heck, if they'd have had Chris Ballard back then, he might still be playing.
  11. For his part, Rhule has said he's not going to be the guy doing the player evaluation. That's gonna be Fitterer. Like most coaches, Rhule's input will primarily be talking about the kinds of players he wants and needs to run his scheme.
  12. I admit feeling like we have people in charge who actually have some clue what they're doing is kinda different.
  13. Apparently I missed the part about him being suggested as a first rounder. To that I'd say, hell no. Later round maybe we can talk but first? No way.
  14. I think you have to factor the style of play in. Quarterbacks like Tom Brady and Drew Brees are definitely built to last longer.
  15. What worries me about him is he's really inconsistent. He has flashes where he looks good. Also has periods where he looks like he has no idea what he's doing.
  16. One semi Panthers related item...
  17. When it comes to behind the scenes stuff, I take Albert Breer over pretty much anybody. Read a lot of his stuff during the ownership search, the coaching search and the GM search. His takes are pretty much always solid.
  18. I'd say Jones is more likely. Honestly, after his Senior Bowl performance I'm not convinced Newman is gonna get drafted at all. Seems more likely he'll catch on as a UDFA somewhere.
  19. Don't know, but as I recall one of the Packers responses to a question about it was "We're not stupid." Definitely don't see them trading him.
  20. A lot easier to do that when you play the style of football they do.
  21. Agreed. He might also be bringing the "let's trade down a lot" mentality here. Kinda wonder how people are gonna feel about that. Either way, sounds like it sure ain't gonna be boring.
  22. Also worth mentioning that whether you accrue a season or not, you can't stop your body from getting a year older.
