  1. Correct. The choice isn't a gunslinger or Bridgewater. If you want to frame it correctly, it's more a question of Brett Favre / John Elway vs Tom Brady / Drew Brees.
  2. From the statement: I am saying that me and my clients will go elsewhere to provide our evidence to investigative authorities. So the statement isn't "we're not going to the police". It's "we're not going to the Houston Police Department". What's the alternative? State police, I suppose. The SI accuser does have a different lawyer, but hasn't decided whether she's going to file a lawsuit yet. I suppose it's possible others may choose to change lawyers at some point (don't know enough about the legal process to know what that entails). As to why they chose a guy who's making a circus of it? The only thought I had on that is that a more sober, reserved lawyer might not have wanted to take a case so high profile and complicated whereas a lawyer that's full of sh-t will charge the gates of Hell with a water pistol.
  3. A gunslinger type works better in a Coryell offense. We're not running a Coryell. The type of offense we run is more effective with a game manager type. Also, if you're making this choice based on who's more exciting to watch rather than who's more likely to win games, you're kinda missing the point of football.
  4. Oy Ya know, I have no idea if you're an actual dick in real life or if you're just one of those really immature people who thinks it's funny to act like a dick online, but let me give you some advice... If you at any point do have a woman in your life who's a victim of something like this, don't give her the advice you're giving here. In fact, do the best thing you can possibly do for her and don't give her any advice...at all.
  5. One, as mentioned before, men thinking they can tell women how they should deal with a crime very few men have ever had to deal with is a really bad look. And two, speaking as someone who I'm sad to say is well acquainted with actual victims of sexual assault, I can tell you that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
  6. Can teams even do private workouts under current conditions?
  7. Yeah, we would. The whole "McNair and/or the Texans did this to him" theory makes absolutely no sense. This in no way benefits the Texans, (and the suggestion that McNair just did it for spite is pretty dumb). Throw in that Watson's activities started long before he had any issues with the team.
  8. You'd be wrong. The credentials for the accusers are included within the lawsuits. Most of them are state licensed massage therapists. Some that aren't reportedly told Watson they didn't typically do massages but he hired them anyway. As for the "but he's rich and handsome and can get any girl" defense, that's used by a fair number of rapists too. And the notion that only poor, ugly guys commit acts of this sort is heavily disproven.
  9. Even that's not on this level though. The closest comparison you can probably make as far as scale is Darren Sharper.
  10. "Prediction" would be a pretty generous word compared to what I'm thinking.
  11. I wouldn't say I have a lot of faith in the NFL, but given the missteps they've had (like with Ray Rice, for example) I think the public pressure on them is likely to be pretty intense.
  12. From what I've read, it sounds like they're keeping Garoppolo so they have a good backup in case their starter goes down.
  13. I'm curious: Do you already have an excuse prepared for when this prediction goes wrong or are you going to wait and make something up on draft night?
  14. Do you have any examples from the post Weinstein / #metoo era?
  15. None of the situations you cited have multiple accusers, and certainly not two dozen of them.
  16. After two allegations that either didn't even make it to court we're going to settled quickly and quietly. You really want to try and make a case something like that is going to happen here?
  17. Once you start throwing out terms like sexual predator, sex offender, etc. it looks pretty grim. You can't trade for that guy. I'm not even sure you can keep that guy if you've already got him.
  18. Give it up, dude. The whole idea was silly to begin with and it's only looking sillier the more you keep it up.
  19. You've got to figure it's some kind of fetish or addiction or psychological problem or something. I've been wondering if, at some point, Watson's defense would turn into "yes technically he did it but he has a problem so it isn't really his fault". Hasn't gone that way so far but I'd say that's still a possibility.
  20. "Closure" here doesn't necessarily mean he pays off the accusers and everything goes away. One pretty universal part of each of the lawsuits has been the demand for an admission of guilt. Maybe some of the women will back off from that but I wouldn't put money on all of them doing it. And if Watson doesn't want to, is a settlement possible? Supposing he does admit it though? That basically amounts to an admission of being a serial sexual predator. And does that then raise the possibility of him having to register as a sex offender? If so, how does that affect his status? Bottom Line: This is a mess, and I wouldn't put any money whatsoever on it being resolved easily or simply.
  21. You'd lose. Albert Breer talked to the 49ers. The reason they didn't trade up to number two is because they know the Jets aren't moving off of taking Zach Wilson. This theory you've been spamming all over the place is pretty goofy.
  22. Technically 25 now counting the woman interviewed in the article. And her story apparently predates the timeline of the others so who knows how long this might have been going on? Throw in that you can't use the "just looking for money or fame" excuse on her because she's getting neither. To quote the late Jack Dawson, "This is bad".
