"Went too far" is a pretty broad statement that could mean a lot of things. Depending on which version of the story you read, Peyton Manning either just pulled his underwear down to moon a teammate or full on shoved his crotch in someone's face. No other details on this yet that I've seen.

Having had a brother who was not only a paralegal himself but also married to one, I've been around my fair share of lawyers. Yes there are good ones, but I've also met plenty that I wouldn't turn my back on. This one comes off like a "celebrity" lawyer, i.e. someone who maximizes his own exposure, and kind of a douche. According to one blurb I saw though, he was also at one time rated one of the best trial lawyers in the country.

He was pretty well valued in New England. In fact, it's been reported that the Patriots have reached out to the 49ers about trading him back. Not exactly a stretch to think Caserio might have similar feelings.

Thing about false accusations is they don't only hurt the accused. They also make it tougher for genuine victims to get justice. Agree there should be consequences for stuff like that but yeah, it's complicated. That said, "I don't believe her because she's accusing someone I'm a fan of" is an ignorant, moronic attitude that also makes it tougher for true victims to get justice. That's exactly the kind of attitude that keeps women silent and allows some douchebags to get away with their crimes just because they're rich, famous or both. As far as this case goes, right now we don't know jack sh-t. There's an accusation, a denial, and a process designed to sort these things out that could very easily take a loooong while to work through. And Verge is right. This is bigger than football. What happens now has the potential to affect Watson's whole life.

I agree for the most part, but there is one difference. Watson's holdout isn't strictly because the team is lousy. It's also because he feels like ownership betrayed him. That part wouldn't apply here. Now, his likely just going from one lousy team to another? Yeah that's a real possibly. Contrary to popular belief, just adding Watson does not make us a contender.

Pretty sure Plan A is to build the team in such a way that Watson looks at them a little differently. Will it work? Unknown, but they're definitely putting in a lot of effort. If they accomplish that, then all they have to do is figure out a way to make him stop hating the owner. (good luck)

Depends on Caserio. Remember, Garoppolo was very well thought of in New England before he was traded. There was even talk of keeping him over Brady. How does he feel now? Unknown.

It's possible, but Lombardi's not the greatest source. He's probably about on the level of Jason LaCanfora as far as reliability, i.e. very hit or miss. I think it was sometime back in the mid 2000s, Lombardi spent half a season continuously saying that John Fox was gonna be fired. When the season ended, he wasn't even on the hot seat.
