Cam also played in a Coryell style offense that suited his skills and had way better skill players.
-
That's overthinking, though.
-
Can't be having rational discussions spoiling the "everything sucks" feat now, can we?
-
See, this read on Olsen misses the point. In saying what he's saying, Olsen is pretty strongly criticizing the Panthers for the situation they've put Young in. Why would a "Panther for life" criticize the team rather than just the quarterback they picked?
-
I laughed
-
Yeah, a lot of those points aren't really correct. It's just a lot of the same pre-draft criticisms rehashed. One is though. His footwork needs work. So did Newton's. Did it get the work it needed in an environment where he was constantly being harassed? No. What happened instead was the bad habits got reinforced. That wasn't his fault though. You really think it's fair to do the same thing to Young and then blame him for it?
-
I apologize if the argument this over your head. I can't fix that.
-
He actually did that yesterday... briefly. They've made the investment and they can't go back on it. Couldn't have said the wrong investment? Yes, it could have. But this is not the way to see that.
-
Yeah...Afraid not. You could put just about anybody in this spot and the most improvement you'd likely get is maybe a few more games won. Plenty of people see it.
-
Unless he's getting David Cart'd. Which, if it's true, likely means there's little chance of fixing him.
-
How many quarterbacks can you know that would thrive in his current situation?
-
Yeah sure I mean, all those comments I've made for a while now about us running the wrong scheme are clearly a defense of Frank Reich, right? That is, unless they really aren't and maybe somebody just has no clue what they're reading
-
Is he being asked to, though? They had a successful sequence yesterday that involved in being under center. Then they never went back to it
-
Nah It's just an actual effort to see the truth as opposed to just lazily sitting back and saying "Well he sucks, let's try somebody else" like your average lottery ticket fan does.
-
Young has indeed shown the ability to make reads and throw accurate passes. It's also pretty clear he works best in an up tempo offense. The problem is he's constantly under duress, throwing the receivers who get those out as much separation as I could, and he's not playing under center at all when he really should be doing it a lot more. Is he a pro level quarterback? My honest answer is I don't know yet, and I don't know how you can tell given what he's being asked to operate in right now.

Very few are still defending Fields, but either way Fields has at least had time to show who he is. If you just want to say "well he sucks", that's pretty easy to do and doesn't really require any digging or analysis. If you actually want to get at the truth, it's a little more complicated than that.

Bryce may not be the guy. It's also possible that even if he were the guy, what makes him the guy is going to get pounded out of him. In this environment, it's hard to say.
-
Is any of the criticism of what's surrounding Young invalid?
-
So just to be clear, everybody who doesn't agree with you on Bryce, regardless of qualification, is being dishonest for some reason. Gotcha 🫥
-
Continuing to go pass heavy against Dallas definitely wasn't the answer.
-
That's my fear
-
How about Kurt Warner?
-
Bridgewater has better receivers, and wasn't playing behind a misschemed OL.
-
I don't wanna do that unless a consultant is on board first. David Tepper should do nothing.

Dirtiest player in the NFL right now...
