  1. Agree that system is way more important than school. When Jeff Tedford was at Cal, he consistently produced highly drafted busts like Kyle Boller...up till that Rodgers guy, of course. There are always exceptions. You just have to be really careful about picking a guy who you're counting on to be that exception.
  2. Okay, I'm genuinely curious. Are you making a serious effort to post the dumbest sh-t possible or are you genuinely this dim?
  3. I thought that was good news. Person mentioned that some of the things the Players Association recommended were things that the Panthers were already doing.
  4. As to Newton, I think all but the most delusional understand he's not who he used to be. Suggestions that he's going to return to MVP form are just cringeworthy. The only question is whether he can be a better version of what he was last year. Will another year of work lead to improvement, or will another year of wear and tear lead to decline? I'd say both are equally possible.
  5. That's kind of like saying Maxwell Smart solved a case because he's a genius.
  6. Looked up some highlights from his college career just out of pure curiosity... I don't recommend "highlight reel" scouting, and I don't really know how much of that guy is left after his health struggles, but I would at least say that his college tape isn't bad.
  7. A lot of GMs that perform poorly don't get as many seasons as Marty did. Hell, if not for the Richardson scandal, Marty might still be in charge.
  8. I suspect our last open roster spot will go to another tryout kicker. If Armstead gets signed, you'd likely see a corresponding cut at some point.
  9. We do have a roster spot open, but we've already got a lot of RBs, so...
  10. Should I talk about how ironic this is? (I'll leave it up to you)
  11. One thing I learned a long time ago is the difference between intelligence and expertise. Even an intelligent man isn't an expert on something he has no experience doing. And if he tries to act like he does over and above those who actually do, then maybe he's not that intelligent after all.
  12. If I make millions trading stocks, and then I buy a home building business, does that mean I know how to build a home? As to Tepper, I'm going off of what he himself has said. Could he go back on that? Sure, but of he's smart he won't.
  13. Okay, I'll give you that one.
  14. Owners get involved because they think they know better than people who have years of actual experience doing their jobs. More often than not, they're wrong. My hope Is that David Tepper is smarter than that. He has been so far, so here's hoping he continues.
  15. More qualified than us? Yeah. Definitely had better resources available to him than us. Unfortunately, his job isn't to be better than us. That'd be easy. His job is (was) to be better than guys like Mickey Loomis and Jason Licht. Given those conditions, he was a spectacular failure.
  16. So basically you're certain that Rhule and Fitterer are going to be bad and force Tepper to interfere. I'm not betting on that just yet.
  17. They were generally on the same page up until 2010. Hurney and Rivera tended to stay on the same page too. Unfortunately, neither of them really knew what they were doing.
  18. It's an example of owners being bad owners. And while I get that it's what you want to happen, it's not guaranteed Tepper will do that just because others have.
  19. There are people on here who insist such thinking is crazy.
  20. Riiiiight. Jerry Richardson is a perfect example of what NFL owners shouldn't do. If you wanna frame him as anything else, I think we're done here.
  21. You're referring to the guy who insisted on keeping Marty Hurney and reportedly told the personnel guys that Randy Moss was off limits? Yeah, sure.
