You want Wilson, you're probably gonna need to trade up to #2.
-
Surprising, but there's the Seattle connection...
-
We'd be absolute morons to trade for someone in his current situation.
-
Verge's source is a scout for another NFL team. And to be clear, they're not talking about Watson's case. They're talking about how other teams currently view him (something an NFL scout would be in a good position to know).

I believe in the case of the Houston Chronicle, they've moved Watson discussion from their sports page to their front page. That's usually not a good sign.
-
I wouldn't be too surprised if the mods start moving Watson discussion to the NFL forum now.
-
In this case, the allegations are coming from twenty-two sources. Verge's source described the Watson situation as "nuclear", i.e. nobody's likely to touch it with a proverbial ten foot pole.
-
Not according to Verge. That ship has reportedly sailed.
-
The "Watson to the Panthers" (or anybody) aspect of the story looks to be pretty much over now (per Verge).
-
Might not be a bad idea for you to start a new thread, give the discussion some closure.
-
You'd have to think it was something beyond just sex. I'd have to imagine he could get that pretty easily without putting himself in these kinds of situations.
-
I get the feeling somebody is about to make Ace Boogie look like a renaissance man by comparison.
-
It looks to have been something that only started last year. The idea that this might be a fetish or something pathological is probably pretty valid.
-
You hearing we're out or just going by the general tone of things?
-
...but quite possibly looking for something else. (and unfortunately, looking in the wrong places)
-
I don't think that's just the Panthers. Barring some miraculous outcome, it's pretty difficult imagining anybody is going to want to make Watson the face of their franchise.
-
Pretty much. Throw in that if your theory admits he was guilty of this stuff, what difference does it really make for Watson?
-
For context, the investigation of Antonio Brown's sexual assault lawsuit that was made last year it's still ongoing as of today.
-
Young, rich, famous, professional athlete...basically king of all you survey. A lot of guys like that think they're untouchable.
-
Oh damn, that looks bad.
-
Roethlisberger didn't have twenty-two accusers. And unfortunately, though he probably shouldn't have, Roethlisberger wound up getting away scot free. I'm far from convinced that's gonna happen with Watson.

That's one of the reasons why I think the idea of the McNairs being behind this is pretty silly. If they would have created him away and then this stuff came out, maybe that would make more sense. As it is, they'd be cutting their own throats. And no, saying "well, this isn't about football for them" doesn't make that idea sound any more realistic.
