A lot of women never come forward. Sad to say I know more than one. And none of their cases involved anybody rich, famous or powerful. An awful lot of defenses involve attacking the victim. Many a woman who has gone to trial said the experience was like being raped all over again. Trust me when I say a delay in reporting or pursuing action is not unusual at all.

Ah, but again, we're talking about civil cases here. The only requirement to win a civil case is to be more believable. Your standards of "won't believe it unless there's video / audio / whatever" wouldn't even stand up in a criminal court, much less a civil one. Like I said, every rapist who goes to court hopes they get someone like you in the jury. You're part of the problem.

As I and others have said, when you actually know someone who's been a victim of something like this, you're not surprised by that at all. Justice for cases of sexual assault is extremely difficult even under simple circumstances, and the circumstances around Watson are anything but simple. If you ever have a chance to talk to an actual victim, you learn that the way a man thinks about stuff like this is often completely off the mark.

Here's the thing: Sometimes, there's not. And no, there doesn't have to be, especially when the men in question are careful. Again, here's hoping if you ever have a wife or a daughter or anyone who suffers something of this sort, you learn to grow up a little bit.

Money, power and fame also help a lot of these guys get away with the stuff they do.

Guys who are guilty of rape would absolutely love to have someone like you on their jury.

Damn

Technically, what Jerry Richardson did isn't "illegal".

There is probably no dumber, more ill informed take available than "unless there's video, we can't be sure". (ranks right up there with the CSI effect)
-
Yeah...you know absolutely nothing about women.

Indulging my inner nerd for a moment, remember the Star Trek episode where Captain Kirk got split into his "good self" and his "bad self", and then his good self struggled to make hard decisions? Bridgewater's "bad self" probably got coached out of him at some point (assuming it existed).

We had a similar thing here. Rip Scherer tried to turn Jake Delhomme into a game manager. That just wasn't gonna happen.
-
I prefer game managers, but I don't know if I'd go that far. Favre and Elway both won rings. Bradshaw won four of 'em.

I can link 'em. Observer Mock Draft The Riot Report

And only those who follow your advice are believable, right? Anybody here who knows someone that's actually been assaulted will tell you you that you absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Again, this is why I'm hoping you're young and just lacking in life experience, because a more mature person thinking like this would be pretty sad.
-
For the record, both Jonathan Alexander at The Observer and Vincent Richardson with Roaring Riot have posted mocks that do not have us taking a quarterback in round one.
-
Again, this goes back to people thinking that "game manager" means "doesn't take risks". That's false.
-
That depends. Am I rich? Famous? Popular? Powerful? Does she have something to lose by taking me on? Even women who are assaulted by men with none of these characteristics frequently have a tough time getting justice, and they suffer in the process. It's one of the reasons why so many women are reluctant to come forward. People like you make it even tougher. Like I said before, if this ever happens to somebody you know, do her a favor and tell her to ask anybody other than you for advice.
-
I hope you're young, because an adult really shouldn't be this ignorant about women when it comes to cases of sexual assault.
-
So then what do you say to the accuser that chose a different lawyer?
-
I still remember Packer fans cheering when Brett Favre chose to throw one away.
-
Not really true. Being a game manager style quarterback doesn't make someone risk averse. I'll grant that gunslinger types are never afraid of taking risks, but being a game manager doesn't mean you avoid them. That's a character trait, not a style of play thing.

Bigger sin: Trading for Josh Rosen or signing Teddy Bridgewater?
