    I kind of put those comments where somebody says something, then says they were taken out of context or didn't mean it that way or whatever in the same category as "the jury will disregard that statement". Yeah...Sure they will.

    Actually, I know the Falcons are only looking for a second round pick. That's not something you'd expect in return for a guy who "every team wants".

    Nobody has even made the Falcons an offer yet.

    Jerome Bettis would disagree. Here's the problem though. It's one thing to ask a quarterback to be the focal point of your offense, another to ask him to basically be the offense. Rivera followed Buddy Ryan's example and thus devoted his best resources to the defense while just expecting Newton to carry his side of the ball. In doing so, he likely shortened Newton's career.

    Presser apparently was to announce 100% capacity at Bank of America this fall. Also confirmed the team is returning to Wofford for training camp.

    Letting Newton be Newton didn't prevent us from building a better offensive line to protect him. The one year we did have a decent offensive line, things went very well.

    Could be argued that him putting this out there might hurt Atlanta's negotiating position.

    By objective measures, Rivera is our most successful coach. Now with that said, Fox came waaaay closer to winning his Super Bowl opportunity whereas Rivera is arguably one of the big reasons they lost.
